The most useful such application I used, “Desfacatorul”, has enormous potential but its author made it for a small, ethnic market. The rest duplicate functionality easily found in Firefox add-ons or Opera Widgets, so personally, I don’t find them too interesing.

@David: AIR runs on Linux machines. I am in touch with some Ubuntu community members, and they have tested FLVPlay HD project on it and it works fine. Mobile devices will be supported as well, as soon as MID devices enter the mass market. So be patient, you will be able to take your best RDA’s with you! :)

Another superb service is the one from Newzdog. It is used for target news alerts. It relies entirely on Adobe air to deliver notifications - its kind of like RSS on steroids. Just enter a topic of interest (e.g Portsmouth Football Club) and you will get delivered articles delivered to you whenever one on that topic is published from the web.
