How to Record Browser Activity w/o Any Tools

Do you know you can perform screen recording without using any native tool provided by your operating system or any 3rd party screen recording app?

Here’s an awesome screen recording tool by Google that you need to know about if you haven’t already. And all you need is your Google Chrome browser.

To start, go to the Google Admin Toolbox website and click on Screen Recorder.

Note: If you are doing this for the first time, you may need to provide Google Chrome with permission to perform screen recording on your system.

Hit the Record button.

Then choose among the following options:

  • Entire screen: If you have more than one monitor, then you need to choose which to record
  • Windows: An actively opened window
  • Chrome tab: Choose from an actively opened chrome tab
    • choose to share

Hit the Share button to start recording. When you are done, hit the Stop button.

Finally, click the Download button to download your video. Your downloaded video will be in .webm format.
