It\u2019s suit and vehicles are perfectly slick which is why the attempts to assemble objects that replicates tools in TRON has been surfacing around the Internet. As for designer\u2019s, with the right clicks and tricks using Photoshop, a TRON fiction does not need to be hard.<\/p>\n<p>Today we will create a TRON wallpaper in Photoshop using stock photos and vectors. <strong>We will give you a precise guidance on <em>how to do it<\/em> and why certain method is better<\/strong>. You will get an in-depth comprehension of what you are doing. Go to <code>C:\\Windows\\Fonts\\<\/code> directory and paste them in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why can\u2019t I just extract them directly to the Fonts folder? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your operating system won\u2019t allow your archiver to modify or add any file within the C:\\WINDOWS\\ directory, so that\u2019s why you need to do this manually. If you have opened Photoshop, restart it, or else you won\u2019t be able to see the newly installed font.<\/p>\n<p>After I chose my resources, I started sketching up some lines based on the model. Below is a schematic of the inspiration sources for the glowing lines on the body: pose, muscles, apparel, body shape, weight distribution and bones.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/sketch.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"806\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<p>To enhance a model\u2019s pose or body features, it\u2019s not enough to just throw some random lines on.<\/p>\n<p>Everything must have a source, be it shown or hidden. Keep in mind that my sketch is only one of the infinite possibilities you have, I encourage you to experiment.<\/p>\n<h2>Let\u2019s begin!<\/h2>\n<h3>Step 1<\/h3>\n<p>Go to File &gt; New, and set it to 1920x1080px in RGB color mode at 72 dpi.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/1-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"360\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 2<\/h3>\n<p>Open the <em>Veteran_of_the_Psychic_Wars_11_by_mjranum_stock.jpg<\/em>. In the Layers palette, <span class=\"key\">F7<\/span> double-click the lock near the layer thumb. This is compulsory if we want to edit the image via Channels. You should now have a \"Layer 0\".<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/2-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"360\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 3<\/h3>\n<p>Go to Layer &gt; Duplicate Layer, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">J<\/span>. Now go to Filter &gt; Other &gt; High Pass. Use a 5px setting and hit <span class=\"key\">OK<\/span>. In the Layers palette, <span class=\"key\">F7<\/span>, set Blending mode to Overlay.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/3-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<p>This will make the image more clear and it will allow you to make a more precise selection of the hair.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/3.1-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 4<\/h3>\n<p>Go to Layer &gt; Merge Visible, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">SHIFT<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">E<\/span>, then go to Layer &gt; Duplicate Layer, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">J<\/span>. Set Blending mode of the copied layer to Screen, then duplicate it two more times. Now we have a nice contrast between the model and the background.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/4-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 5<\/h3>\n<p>Go to the Channels window Window &gt; Channels and select the \"Green\" channel. Right-click it and select \"Duplicate channel\".<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/5-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<p>The \"Green\" channel provides the highest contrast of all the channels. We duplicate it because we need dummy channel to work on to further improve the contrast.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 6<\/h3>\n<p>Go to Image &gt; Adjustments &gt; Curves, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">M<\/span> and shape the curve as shown below. The lower half will darken the shadows and the upper half will lighten the highlights. Do this twice.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/6-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 7<\/h3>\n<p>Go to Layer &gt; Adjustments &gt; Levels and use the settings below.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/7-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 8<\/h3>\n<p>Grab the Brush Tool, <span class=\"key\">B<\/span>, set Hardness to 100% and cover with black the interior white spots in the hair, the face and the rest of the body.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/8-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<p>We don\u2019t need any details in the channel, just the outline of the model.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 9<\/h3>\n<p>Grab the Dodge Tool, <span class=\"key\">O<\/span>, set it on Highlights and lighten any extra grays in the image.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/9-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/9.1-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 10<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+click the \"Green copy\" channel thumb, go to the Layers palette, <span class=\"key\">F7<\/span>, Go to Select &gt; Inverse, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">SHIFT<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">I<\/span> select the bottom-most layer and copy it, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">C<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+clicking a thumbnail whether it\u2019s channel or layer loads a selection of the contour of the clicked layer\/channel.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/10-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"700\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 11<\/h3>\n<p>Go to Window &gt; Untitled-1.psd our document and paste it, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">V<\/span>. Go to Edit &gt; Free Transform, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">T<\/span> and resize it to fit the canvas, like below. Hold the <span class=\"key\">SHIFT<\/span> key to preserve its proportions. Hit <span class=\"key\">Enter<\/span> to exit Free Transform mode. To clear the clothing curls, use the Clone Stamp Tool, <span class=\"key\">S<\/span>: use <span class=\"key\">ALT<\/span>+click to pick source, then click on the curl.<\/p>\n<p>Do the same for the sword in the \"model 2\" picture, but use the Path Tool, <span class=\"key\">P<\/span> to cut it.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/11-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"640\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 12<\/h3>\n<p>Open the \"Tech Vector Pack 3\" .eps file. When prompted to input a file size, type in about 3000px for width. Hit <span class=\"key\">OK<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>For Illustrator, you simply open it in vector format. Photoshop can open .eps Illustrator 8 files, but in raster format. You can however open it in any size you want \u2013 the .eps file is vector!<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/12-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"449\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 13<\/h3>\n<p>Grab the Rectangular Marquee Tool, <span class=\"key\">M<\/span>, select a round tech shape click-drag to create the selection rectangle, copy it, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">C<\/span>, go back to our document Window &gt; Untitled-1.psd and paste it, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">V<\/span>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/13-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"640\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 14<\/h3>\n<p>Go back to the vector pack file Window &gt; designious tech shapes 4. eps, copy another shape and paste it into our document, like in <em><strong>Step 13<\/strong><\/em><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/14-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"640\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 15<\/h3>\n<p>Grab the Selection Tool, <span class=\"key\">V<\/span>, check the \"Auto Selection\" box and click the first tech shape pasted in and duplicate it, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">J<\/span>. Now go to Edit &gt; Free Transform, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">T<\/span> hold the <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span> key and click-drag the the top left corner, like below. Do the same for the top right corner. Hit <span class=\"key\">Enter<\/span> to exit Free Transform mode.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/15-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"462\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 16<\/h3>\n<p>Duplicate the first shape (original one) and place the copies as shown below. Grab the Path Tool, <span class=\"key\">P<\/span>, set it on Shapes and draw each glow line on the body, based in the sketch.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/16-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"604\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<p>In the Layers palette, select all these shapes and hit <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">E<\/span> to merge them.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/16.1-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"900\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 17<\/h3>\n<p>Grab the Line Tool, <span class=\"key\">U<\/span>, set it to Shape Layers and 7 px Width, draw an oblique line, then hold <span class=\"key\">SHIFT<\/span> key. Now change the line to \"Add to shape area (+)\" and draw a horizontal line. Hold <span class=\"key\">SHIFT<\/span> key to make it perfectly horizontal.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/17-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"289\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 18<\/h3>\n<p>Grab the Horizontal Type Tool, <span class=\"key\">T<\/span>, click-drag to create a type box and input a random text. Set the font to \"V5 Prophit\".<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/18-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"604\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 19<\/h3>\n<p>Select the \"Shape 1\" layer and go to Layer &gt; Duplicate Layer, <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">J<\/span>. Place several copies like below. Do the same for the text. To change the type input, double-click the layer thumb in the Layers palette.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/19-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"604\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 20<\/h3>\n<p>Go to Layer &gt; New Fill Layer &gt; Solid color. Select \"Blending Options\". You can recognize them easily, they aren\u2019t named \"Shape \u2018\u00a6\" and don\u2019t have a \"T\" on the thumb.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/tron-photoshop-tutorial\/22-vectorious-tron-minimal-design-tutorial.jpg\" width=\"570\" height=\"485\" alt=\"tron minimal ps tutorial\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Step 23<\/h3>\n<p>Create a new layer above it (select the layer and hit <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">SHIFT<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">N<\/span> to create a new layer, then select both layers and hit <span class=\"key\">CTRL<\/span>+<span class=\"key\">E<\/span> (merge layers)). For the selected shapes, go to Filter &gt; Blur &gt; Gaussian Blur. In the Layers palette, <span class=\"key\">F7<\/span>, set the layer\u2019s blending mode to Overlay.
