Running a capable AI model locally does not have to turn into a weekend project.<\/p>\n

Google DeepMind\u2019s Gemma 4 models are light enough to run on local hardware, and with Ollama plus OpenClaw, going from \u201cnothing installed\u201d to \u201clocal AI agent running\u201d is fairly quick.<\/p>\n

No API keys. No cloud dependency. No account hopping just to test an agent on your own machine.<\/p>\n

If the goal is the shortest path from zero to working, this is it.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Install Ollama<\/h2>\n

Ollama handles the heavy lifting for local models: downloading them, serving them, and making them available to apps.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Pull Gemma 4 26B (Optional)<\/h2>\n

Step 3: Launch OpenClaw With Gemma 4<\/h2>\n
