It\u2019s worth noting that these updates will be gradually implemented over the coming weeks or months. So, you might not see the changes immediately.<\/p>\n

The process for disabling your watch history is straightforward and nearly identical whether you\u2019re using YouTube on the web or on a mobile device. To turn off your YouTube history, simply follow the steps provided.<\/p>\n

Pausing Your YouTube History<\/h2>\n

Follow these simple steps to pause your YouTube watch history:<\/p>\n

  1. Open the YouTube app and tap on your profile image in the upper right corner, then choose \u201cYour data in YouTube.\u201d <\/li>\n

  2. Scroll down until you find \u201cYouTube Watch History.\u201d (You\u2019ll likely see a checked circle next to it, indicating it\u2019s active.) Tap on the arrow next to it to turn if off, or pause it. <\/li>\n

  4. A pop-up will appear, warning you that turning off your history will affect personalized recommendations. It will also inform you that this setting will pause history across all devices signed in to this account. Tap on \u201cPause\u201d to proceed. <\/li>\n

  5. Once you tap \u201cPause,\u201d another pop-up will confirm that your YouTube history is now paused.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Resume YouTube History<\/h3>\n

    To reactivate your watch history, just retrace the steps you followed earlier. When you get to the \u201cYouTube History\u201d section, select \u201cTurn on.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Delete Your YouTube History<\/h2>\n

    If you want to fully refresh your YouTube experience, pausing your watch history isn\u2019t enough. You\u2019ll also need to delete your existing history to stop receiving recommendations based on your past activity.<\/p>\n

    Here\u2019s how:<\/p>\n

    2. Scroll down to \u201cManage your YouTube Watch History\u201d and select it. <\/li>\n
