This means you will need a Discord account. You can <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/discord.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">sign up for a free Discord account<\/a> via their website or download the Discord app for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/discord.com\/download\" rel=\"noopener\">Mac<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/discord.com\/download\" rel=\"noopener\">Windows<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/discord-chat-talk-hangout\/id985746746\" rel=\"noopener\">iOS<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.discord\" rel=\"noopener\">Android<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Creating AI Art With Midjourney<\/h2>\n<p>Once your Discord account is set up, follow these steps to create your AI art with Midjourney.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.midjourney.com\/home\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Midjourney\u2019s website<\/a>, and select <strong>Join the beta<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/midjourney-homepage.jpg\" alt=\"join midjourney beta\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1076\"><\/figure>\n<li>This will open up the Discord app. Here, select <strong>Accept Invite<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/accept-invite.jpg\" alt=\"accept Midjourney invite\" width=\"2249\" height=\"1383\"><\/figure>\n<li>As a new Beta user, you can be entitled to creating 25 AI images for free(which should suffice if you just want to experience it.) Do check out <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.midjourney.com\/account\/\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Midjourney\u2019s pricing page<\/a> if you want to create more.<\/li>\n<li>To create your first AI image, <strong>go into one of the Newcomer Rooms<\/strong>. These room names usually start with the prefix of <code>newbies-XX<\/code>. If you are on the Discord mobile app, click the hamburger menu on the top left to see the list of rooms.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/newbies-room.jpg\" alt=\"newbies room\" width=\"1160\" height=\"801\"><\/figure>\n<li>While in the room, go down to the text box. Enter <code>\/imagine<\/code>, select <strong>Prompt<\/strong> (press <span class=\"key\">Space<\/span>, and it will show up), <strong>add some keywords separated by comma,<\/strong> then <strong>select the send icon<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/the-prompt.jpg\" alt=\"prompt\" width=\"1312\" height=\"310\"><\/figure>\n<li>Four images based on your keywords will then be created, along with its progress, in percentage.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/four-images-created.jpg\" alt=\"4 images created\" width=\"1264\" height=\"802\"><\/figure>\n<li>When they are done, this is what you will see. At the bottom of these images, there are several buttons\/options you can follow up with. (<strong>U<\/strong>\/Upscale lets you create a larger version of any of the images, <strong>V<\/strong>\/Variation that lets you create new variations of the image that you select, and the <strong>Refresh button<\/strong> will re-create four new images based on your keywords.)<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/four-images-done.jpg\" alt=\"four images done\" width=\"1437\" height=\"875\"><\/figure>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you just want to get the hang of how Midjourney works, this is it. But if you want to download any one (or all) of the generated image, follow on.<\/p>\n<p>Say I want to download image 4 in its highest quality, I would then upscale it by selecting <strong>U4<\/strong>. And then, you will see the upscaling of image 4 in a new dialogue, together with its progress.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/upscale-image-4.jpg\" alt=\"upscale image 4\" width=\"1427\" height=\"935\"><\/figure>\n<p>Once upscaling is done, select <strong>Upscale to Max<\/strong>, then select the image and select the download icon to download the image in high-res.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/midjourney-ai-art\/upscale-to-max.jpg\" alt=\"update to max\" width=\"1429\" height=\"1040\"><\/figure>\n<p>That\u2019s it. Now go wild with your imagination.
