If I were to ask you what the date is tomorrow and the date the day after, you\u2019d be able to figure it out quickly without much calculation.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, when someone asks you about a date six months after the 12th of August 2022? That may require a bit of work, and you can answer it with a quick Google search.<\/p>\n<p>But what if there are many different events that you have to calculate the due date for (like in the screenshot below), then googling one by one can be troublesome.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-sheets-get-due-dates\/dates-to-calculate.jpg\" alt=\"dates to calculate\" width=\"1025\" height=\"626\"><\/figure>\n<p>And that is where Google Sheets can help you out. By applying simple formulas, you can <strong>calculate multiple due dates within seconds<\/strong>. In the following, you can read about how to do that.<\/p>\n<h2>What are we going to achieve here?<\/h2>\n<p>This tutorial will enable you to <strong>use Google Sheets<\/strong> to <strong>input as many start dates as you want<\/strong> along with the <strong>duration in which they\u2019re due<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It will then <strong>automatically calculate the due date<\/strong> for you.<\/p>\n<h2>Let\u2019s get started<\/h2>\n<p>Now, open a blank new Google Sheet and dive into it.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Insert \u201c<strong>Start date<\/strong>\u201c, \u201c<strong>Due in (days)<\/strong>\u201c, and \u201c<strong>End date<\/strong>\u201d in 3 separate Columns.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-sheets-get-due-dates\/01-insert-titles.jpg\" alt=\"insert titles\" width=\"891\" height=\"586\"><\/figure>\n<li><strong>Click A<\/strong> to select the entire \u201cStart date\u201d Column, hold down <span class=\"key\">Control<\/span> key (Windows), or <span class=\"key\">Command<\/span> key (Mac), <strong>left click once<\/strong> on \u201cStart date\u201d cell to deselect it.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-sheets-get-due-dates\/02-select-cells.jpg\" alt=\"select cells\" width=\"891\" height=\"880\"><\/figure>\n<li>Go to <strong>Format<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Number<\/strong> and select <strong>Date<\/strong>. This will ensure all cells (except A1) are formatted as <code>mm\/dd\/yyyy<\/code>. If you want to use a different format, go to <strong>Format<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Number<\/strong> and select <strong>Custom date and time<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-sheets-get-due-dates\/03-format-numbers.jpg\" alt=\"format numbers\" width=\"1787\" height=\"1710\"><\/figure>\n<li><strong>Repeat step 2 and step 3<\/strong> for the \u201cEnd date\u2019 Column.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Click B<\/strong> to select the entire \u201cDue in\u201d Column, hold down <span class=\"key\">Control<\/span> key (Windows), or <span class=\"key\">Command<\/span> key (Mac), <strong>left click once<\/strong> on \u201cDue in\u201d cell to deselect it, then go to <strong>Format<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Number<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Number<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Now, let\u2019s give it the formula so it calculates the end date for us. Go to the first Column under End date (C2), and enter this formula: <code>=IF(B2&lt;&gt;\"\",A2+B2,\"\")<\/code>, and hit <span class=\"key\">Enter<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drag this cell down<\/strong> as fast as you want it to go, so the formula applies to other cells as well.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-sheets-get-due-dates\/07-drag-the-cell.jpg\" alt=\"drag cells\" width=\"907\" height=\"812\"><\/figure>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Testing the Sheet<\/h2>\n<p>So basically, what the formula does is that when you enter a start date and how long it\u2019s due, Column C displays its end date accurately.<\/p>\n<p>To test the formula we added in Google Sheets with the aforementioned steps, we will enter a start date, say 8\/13\/2022, and add that it dues in 20 days. The result should show that the end date will be 9\/2\/2022.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-sheets-get-due-dates\/test-sheet.jpg\" alt=\"test sheet\" width=\"885\" height=\"500\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Making it more beautiful<\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re going to use this feature of Google Sheets more often, then we might as well make it look a little more presentable.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-sheets-get-due-dates\/beautifying-it.jpg\" alt=\"beautifying sheet\" width=\"1220\" height=\"627\"><\/figure>\n<p>Here are a few things I did to make it neater.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Replace default font with Cambria, size 11.<\/li>\n<li>For Row 1, fill color, bold text, and centralized title.<\/li>\n<li>Freeze Row 1, so it does not move when scrolling. (<strong>View<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Freeze<\/strong> &gt; <strong>1 row<\/strong>).<\/li>\n<li>Alternating row colors.
