However, there are many other things that you can do with it.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s an outlook of what Google Assistant can do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The main thing that distinguishes the voice assistant from similar services is \u201clive\u201d communication which it does better than Siri in iOS. The answers to the same questions are usually different, and often even humorous.<\/li>\n<li>Help you to plan a route from home to a place of work and show petrol stations.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019ll go over your plans for the day, upload the results of the calendar, and will show you a photo from the cloud storage.<\/li>\n<li>On command, it will launch the application, turn on music or find a movie on the network.<\/li>\n<li>Manages system settings on an Android smartphone: turn on silent mode, Wi-Fi, send a text message or call the desired number.<\/li>\n<li>The assistant remembers passwords and codes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Getting Started with Google Assistant<\/h2>\n<p>To get started with the assistant, you first need to activate the \u201cVoice Match\u201d. Here\u2019s how to do it:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the installed application and at the bottom of the page and click the <strong>More<\/strong> button (three horizontal stripes).<\/li>\n<li>Go to the <strong>Settings<\/strong> section and select <strong>Voice input<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Voice Match<\/strong> parameter block, toggle all the options on.<\/li>\n<li>Now to turn on the assistant, all you need to say is the start command <strong>\"Okay Google\"<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Using Google Assistant Voice Control on Windows PC<\/h2>\n<p>In order to use the Google Assistant voice control feature on Windows 10, we are going to use Pushbullet and IFTTT apps on the mobile device and Push2Run application on the computer.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how our task flow is going to look like:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voice command &gt; IFTTT &gt; Pushbullet &gt; Push2Run on PC &gt; Final execution of the task on PC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Following is a step-by-step guide that you can follow for using Google Assistant on your Windows PC:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Install both <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ifttt.com\/android_device\">IFTTT<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.pushbullet.android&referrer=utm_source%3Dpushbullet.com\">Pushbullet<\/a> apps on your Android device. <\/li>\n<li>Then open the Pushbullet and IFTTT websites on your PC and sign in with your Google account. <\/li>\n<li>Install the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.push2run.com\/\">Push2Run<\/a> application on PC. <\/li>\n<li>In your account Settings, click on the <strong>Create Access Token<\/strong> button and you will get a key value. Copy that value.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-assistant-voice-control-windows\/Access-tokens.jpg\" alt=\"Access tokens\" width=\"800\" height=\"238\"><\/figure>\n<li>Open the Push2Run app on your PC and do the initial setup and select <strong>Pushbullet<\/strong> from the left menu to enable the Pushbullet box.\n<\/li><li> Paste the copied access token value into the API Pushbullet field. <\/li>\n<li>Now, copy everything into the <strong>Title Filter<\/strong> box and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<h3>IFTTT<\/h3>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-assistant-voice-control-windows\/IFTTT-google-assistant.jpg\" alt=\"IFTTT google assistant\" width=\"800\" height=\"230\"><\/figure>\n<li>Now click on the Google Assistant box and then select the <strong>Say a phrase with text ingredient<\/strong> trigger:<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-assistant-voice-control-windows\/trigger.jpg\" alt=\"trigger\" width=\"800\" height=\"612\"><\/figure>\n<li>Once you are on the next page, enter the voice commands that you will use to connect to your computer. When finished, click the <strong>Create Trigger<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Then click on <strong>+ that<\/strong> (As you see in the image below):<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-assistant-voice-control-windows\/IFTTT.jpg\" alt=\"IFTTT\" width=\"800\" height=\"230\"><\/figure>\n<li>Now, click on <strong>Pushbullet<\/strong> and then click on <strong>Push a Note<\/strong>. Then, paste the copied text from <strong>Title Filter<\/strong> into the <strong>Title<\/strong> box and click the <strong>Create Action<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can now test it by saying something to the computer with \"Ok Google (the voice command you have chosen to use)\" and see if your PC can do that action.<\/p>\n<h2>Push2Run Tasks<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Push2Run<\/strong> works through the IFTTT and Dropbox applets. An applet is created on IFTTT with a recognizable part of the phrase (set using $), and then this part is written (again, through IFTTT scripts) to a text file on the Dropbox.<\/p>\n<p>Push2Run monitors the appearance of a new file through the FileSystemWatcher, reads the content as its command, and deletes the file. In principle, a simple, but quite a workable solution.<\/p>\n<p>Let's look at examples of using tasks:<\/p>\n<h3>Shutdown<\/h3>\n<p>You can use the shutdown command to turn off the computer by saying a phrase or a word. Fill in the <strong>Description<\/strong> field with the name you wish to use.<\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Listen for<\/strong> the field, enter a phrase or word that will launch the program. It uses shutdown.exe that\u2019s built into Windows.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/google-assistant-voice-control-windows\/push2run-shutdown.jpg\" alt=\"push2run shutdown\" width=\"800\" height=\"626\"><\/figure>\n<p>Example of calling the command: OK, Google (your phrase you have chosen) shutdown. Following are some other parameters that can be used for different actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To put the computer into sleep mode: <code>\/ h<\/code><\/li>\n<li>To shutdown the computer: <code>\/ s \/ t 10 \/ c<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Google Search<\/h3>\n<p>You can use this task to search for something on Google. It is important to note that the service is not able to do all this yet.
