Tutorial after jump.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/web20button\/01.gif\" width=\"473\" height=\"299\"><\/p>\n<p>Create a blank canvas  at about 500px (width) x 400px (height) to start off the button design. Create a new layer call \u2018<strong>bg01<\/strong>\u2018. Select the <strong>Rounded Rectangular Tool<\/strong>, hold SHIFT and draw a round sided square in the center. Any color is fine at the current stage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/web20button\/02.gif\" width=\"473\" height=\"299\"><\/p>\n<p>Call up the <strong>Blending Options<\/strong> of \u2018<strong>bg01<\/strong>\u2018 and adjust the following styles:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drop Shadow<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opacity: 40%<\/li>\n<li>Distance: 0px<\/li>\n<li>Spread: 0%<\/li>\n<li>Size: 6px<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gradiant Overlay<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Color stop: 0%, #d00031<\/li>\n<li>Color stop: 100%, #ff2b5d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/web20button\/03.gif\" width=\"473\" height=\"299\"><\/p>\n<p>Hold CTRL, left click on \u2018<strong>bg01<\/strong>\u2018 Layer Thumbnail to select its shape. Go <strong>Select<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Modify<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Contract<\/strong> and enter the value \u2018<strong>2px<\/strong>\u2018. This will shrink the selected area by 2 pixel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/web20button\/04.gif\" width=\"473\" height=\"299\"><\/p>\n<p>Create a new layer call \u2018<strong>bg02<\/strong>\u2018 and filled the highlighted (after shrink) area with any color. I use #000000 black here. Double click on \u2018bg02\u2019 to launch up the <strong>Blending Option<\/strong> and tweak the following style.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gradiant Overlay<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Color stop: 0%, #c6002f\n  <\/li>\n<li>Color stop: 100%, #c6002f<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Create another new layer for text, call it \u2018<strong>txt<\/strong>\u2018. Insert your button\u2019s text. I\u2019ll use an alphabet to represent. The font styles I\u2019m using here are as follow:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rounded Arial Bold<\/li>\n<li>150pt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Same, after deciding your text, double click on \u2018txt\u2019 to launch the <strong>Blending Options<\/strong> and tweak the following styles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drop Shadow<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opacity: 25%<\/li>\n<li>Distance: 0px<\/li>\n<li>Spread: 0px<\/li>\n<li>Size: 5px   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Inner Shadow<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opacity: 10%<\/li>\n<li>Distance: 0px<\/li>\n<li>Choke: 0<\/li>\n<li>Size: 10px  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Bevel Emboss<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Depth: 1px<\/li>\n<li>Direction: Down<\/li>\n<li>Size: 0px<\/li>\n<li>Softten: 0px<\/li>\n<li>Highlight Mode Opacity: 32%     <\/li>\n<li>Shadow Mode Opacity: 32%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gradiant Overlay<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Color Stop:0% #d2d2d2<\/li>\n<li>Color Stop:100% #f0efef<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/web20button\/05.gif\" width=\"499\" height=\"370\"><\/p>\n<p>Button is almost done. Let\u2019s give it a little glow over the top part. Hold <strong>CTRL<\/strong>, left click \u2018<strong>bg02<\/strong>\u2018 Layer Thumbnail to highlight the outer shape; choose <strong>Eclipse Marquee Tool<\/strong>. Now hold <strong>ALT<\/strong>, with Eclipse Marquee Tool selected, drag is across to minus out bottom half of the highlighted area. Refer to image above.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/web20button\/06.gif\" width=\"499\" height=\"450\"><\/p>\n<p>With the top portion highlighted and Eclipse Marquee Tool still selected, right click and choose <strong>Feather<\/strong>; enter <strong>15px<\/strong> for the radius.<\/p>\n<p>Create a new layer, call it \u2018<strong>glow<\/strong>\u2018 and fill the highlighted part with white [#ffffff]. This should add glow effect to the top part of your button.
