That said, let\u2019s check the solution; but first, here\u2019s a prerequisite.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prerequisite:<\/strong> You must install Android\u2019s ADB on your system, then connect your Android device to your computer through ADB. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/devsjournal.com\/download-minimal-adb-fastboot-tool.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Here\u2019s a quick tutorial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/disable-system-app-android\/connect-android-device-via-adb.jpg\" width=\"706\" height=\"521\" alt=\"Connect Android device via ADB\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Disable a System App without Root<\/h2>\n<p>Fortunately, <strong>Android supports disabling system apps<\/strong> natively; however, OEMs disable this feature for some apps.<\/p>\n<p>For example, Xiaomi disables this feature for its core apps including but not limited to its security and settings apps.<\/p>\n<p>Using ADB, you can disable a system app \u2014 even if you can\u2019t disable it natively in Android. What\u2019s more interesting? This trick works without root, i.e., superuser access. Alright then, <strong>let\u2019s check the no-root trick<\/strong> to disable system apps.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, you must <strong>check the app\u2019s package name<\/strong> for the app you\u2019re looking forward to disabling using this trick.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t know, you can use an app like <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.ubqsoft.sec01\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">App Inspector<\/a> to get such information about an app. Alternatively, you can <strong>look for the app\u2019s link (web address)<\/strong> in the Play Store, as shown in this photo:<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/disable-system-app-android\/extract-app-s-package-name-play-store.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"920\" alt=\"Extract app's package name from Play Store\"><\/figure>\n<p>As it\u2019s evident, the package name for Google Chrome is \u201ccom.android.chrome\u201d. Once you know the package name, <strong>run this command in the console<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><code>adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 &lt;package_name&gt;<\/code><\/p>\n<p>For example, here\u2019s the command to disable Google Chrome:<\/p>\n<p><code>adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.chrome<\/code><\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/disable-system-app-android\/disable-app-android-via-adb.jpg\" width=\"706\" height=\"378\" alt=\"Disable an app in Android via ADB\"><\/figure>\n<p>That\u2019s all; this trick will enable you to disable any bloatware on your smartphone, allowing you to disable unused apps and <strong>gain more power and speed<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<h2>Re-enable a System App without Root<\/h2>\n<p>If you already know the app\u2019s package (like \u201ccom.android.chrome\u201d) that you need to re-enable in your device, it\u2019s good.<\/p>\n<p>If not, you must <strong>check the app\u2019s package<\/strong> name before following the steps. You must know the app before disabling it.<\/h3>\n<p>Please <strong>don\u2019t try this trick to disable a crucial app<\/strong> on your device. For example, MIUI System Launcher (\u201ccom.miui.home\u201d) is a crucial app (especially if you don\u2019t have any other app launcher installed on your smartphone).<\/p>\n<p>If you disable this app, your device may give continuous errors or stop responding at all.<\/p>\n<h3>2. If you disable, re-enable the app immediately.<\/h3>\n<h3>3. An app is getting re-enabled again. How come?<\/h3>\n<p>Smartphone manufacturers are smart enough to <strong>add security measures for discouraging people<\/strong> from hacking into their devices.
