If you\u2019ve recently installed iOS12 or macOS Mojave, you might be encountering a problem with one of Apple\u2019s native apps \u2013 Stocks. Being an early adopter, I installed both these operating systems, but when I tried to open the Stocks app, an error message appeared saying, \u201cStocks Unavailable. Please try again later.<\/strong>\u201d If you\u2019re having this same problem<\/a>, then know that you\u2019re not alone.<\/p>\n

Well, at the time of writing this article, there is no official fix for this problem yet. However, thanks to all those years of being an iOS nerd, I was able to fix it and get Stocks app working again after much trial and error<\/strong>. So, in the following, I\u2019m going to share with you my experience and hope it works for you too.<\/p>\n

Fixing \"Stocks Unavailable<\/strong>\" error in Stocks app<\/h2>\n

The culprit, for me at least, lies within the \u201cidentifier\u201d. And no, I\u2019m not referring to Advertising Identifier in Settings > Privacy, but rather the identifier of the Stocks app itself.<\/p>\n

The solution that worked for me is that upon resetting the identifier, the Stocks app would start working again. Here\u2019s how you can do it in iOS12 and macOS respectively.<\/p>\n

Resetting identifier in iOS12<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Go to Settings, and find and tap Stocks. <\/li>\n
    \"tap<\/figure>\n
  2. Turn on Reset the identifier.<\/li>\n
    \"turn<\/figure>\n
  3. Now quit and restart the Stocks app.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Reset identifier in macOS<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Launch Stocks app.<\/li>\n
    2. Click Stocks on the top left of the screen, then select Reset Identifier.<\/li>\n
