Unfortunately, <strong>it restricts to zoom in<\/strong> after a certain level.<\/p>\n<p>However, there is a <strong>trick to bypass that restriction<\/strong>, i.e., zoom in almost indefinitely into Google Maps. And that is what I am going to share in this post.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/how-to-zoom-this-close-into-google-maps\/zoom-google-maps.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" alt=\"Zoom in into Google Maps\"><\/figure>\n<p class=\"note\"><strong>Read Also:<\/strong> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/best-offline-gps-maps\/\">Best Offline GPS Map Apps for Android & iOS<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Two tricks to zoom in into Google Maps<\/h2>\n<p>I am going to show few tricks that involve altering the URL of Google Maps. That said, these tricks <strong>work when you are browsing the map in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/alternative-windows-web-browsers\/\">web browser<\/a><\/strong> and not in a native application, like Google Maps for Android.<\/p>\n<h3>Trick #1: Particularize latitude\/longitude<\/h3>\n<p>The first trick is to provide more precise latitude\/longitude information.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if the web address in your browser\u2019s location bar is <code>https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Mount+Pleasant+Mail+Centre\/@<strong>51.5245134,-0.1142634<\/strong>,17z\/<\/code>, then the text in bold is the latitude\/longitude pair.<\/p>\n<p>You can provide more precise latitude\/longitude by dividing the fractional part of the original number.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if the initial value is <code>51.5245134<\/code>, then the more accurate values are <code>51.5245117<\/code>, <code>51.5242617<\/code>, <code>51.5222617<\/code>, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>However, please note that the latitude\/longitude pair is used to tell the location, so it is not easy to particularize them without switching the position in Google Maps.<\/p>\n<h3>Trick #2: Decrease the scale factor<\/h3>\n<p>The second trick is to decrease the distance factor.<\/p>\n<p>For example, if the location in your web browser is <code>https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Mount+Pleasant+Mail+Centre\/@51.5245134,-0.1142634,<strong>70m<\/strong>\/<\/code>, then the text in bold is the scale factor.<\/p>\n<p>You can decrease the scale factor to zoom in more on the map. However, do note that the <strong>scale factor is only available when you are viewing in the Satellite view<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are in Map view, you will not see the scale factor in the URL.<\/p>\n<h2>How to zoom in into Google Maps?<\/h2>\n<p>As you now know the tricks to zoom in almost indefinitely into Google Maps, let us see how one can apply these tricks to get the zoomed in results.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the steps below to use the above tricks:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First of all, search for a place on Google Maps. After you get the result, <strong>switch to the Satellite view<\/strong> by clicking the square icon (with \u201cSatellite\u201d as its caption) on the bottom-left of the map screen.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/how-to-zoom-this-close-into-google-maps\/switch-satellite-view.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" alt=\"Switch to the Satellite view\"><\/figure>\n<li>Now <strong>zoom in using the + (plus) button<\/strong> present on the right-bottom of the map screen. You must zoom in until it is possible, and then <strong>ensure you are viewing in 2D<\/strong> \u2014 check if there is a \u201c2D\u201d or \u201c3D\u201d button. If it is \u201c3D\u201d, then you are in the 2D mode.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/how-to-zoom-this-close-into-google-maps\/ensure-are-2d-mode.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"770\" alt=\"Ensure you are in 2D mode\"><\/figure>\n<li>Now you can apply the tricks given above. For example, I tried to zoom in more while exploring \u201cMount Pleasant Mail Centre\u201d, and using the above tricks; I was <strong>able to zoom in up to 25m<\/strong> with near-to-clear quality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/how-to-zoom-this-close-into-google-maps\/example-zooming-google-maps.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"706\" alt=\"Example of zooming in into Google Maps\"><\/figure>\n<p>That is all about zooming in into maps a lot more than what is officially allowed by Google Maps.
