Gmail recently received a significant update, introducing a sleek material design interface to enhance user experience. This update also brings several highly requested features<\/strong>, such as smart replies, email snoozing, and the ability to access events, notes, and more directly within Gmail.<\/p>\n

The primary goal of this new design and its features is to provide an intuitive interface<\/strong> and boost your productivity<\/a> in everyday tasks. David Thacker, VP Product Management of G Suite, mentioned<\/a> that the new Gmail offers features that \u201ccan now help you spend more time on work that matters<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t agree more \u2013 the new Gmail is truly impressive!<\/strong> After YouTube transitioned to material design in August 2017, this update seemed inevitable. Are you ready to explore the new Gmail?<\/p>\n

\"Gmail's<\/figure>\n

Note:<\/strong> Although the new Gmail is available globally, it\u2019s not yet the default option, so you\u2019ll need to opt-in. Additionally, some new features may not be immediately available after switching but will be rolled out within a few weeks.<\/p>\n

How to Switch to the New Gmail<\/h2>\n

Switching to the new Gmail is straightforward, even though it\u2019s not enabled by default for everyone. Simply open Gmail, click the gear icon<\/strong> in the top-right corner, and select \u201cTry the new Gmail<\/strong>\u201d to activate it.<\/p>\n

\"Option<\/figure>\n

If you don\u2019t see this option, your account might be a school or work account, in which case you should contact your administrator to enable the new Gmail for you.<\/p>\n

New and Updated Features<\/h2>\n

Nudging<\/h3>\n

The web version of Gmail now includes several AI-powered features<\/strong>, similar to its mobile counterpart, including a nudging feature that reminds you to follow up and respond<\/strong> to important emails. Reminders will appear alongside messages in your inbox to ensure you don\u2019t miss anything crucial.<\/p>\n

The long-awaited Smart Reply<\/strong> feature, first introduced in the mobile versions of Gmail, is now available on the web. You can view all snoozed messages under the \u2018Snoozed\u2019 option<\/strong> in Gmail\u2019s Menu when you\u2019re ready to review them.<\/p>\n

Display Density<\/h3>\n

Gmail now offers an updated display density setting, allowing you to show more information and options for better inbox management. You can adjust the display density by clicking the gear button<\/strong> and choosing \u201cDisplay density<\/strong>\u201d to expand or reduce the inbox view based on your screen resolution and preferences.<\/p>\n

Offline Support<\/h3>\n

The new Gmail also incorporates various enterprise-friendly features<\/strong> that were previously part of \u201cGmail Labs\u201d in the classic version. These features include canned responses, right-side chat<\/strong> (Hangouts), auto-advance, multiple inboxes, preview pane, and more, all available in the Advanced section of Gmail\u2019s Settings.<\/p>\n

It certainly is, at least for me.
