Web iconsets<\/a> are quickly becoming the norm for modern web design. They\u2019re massive assets to web designers as these icons can be customized through CSS<\/strong> and resized without any quality loss.<\/p>\n

But some icon packs can feel bloated and too large for smaller sites. That\u2019s where Geomicons<\/a> really shines.<\/p>\n

This is a custom hand-coded icon pack running on SVG<\/strong>. You can embed the icons through JS scripts, or as direct SVG files into your page. Either way, they\u2019re beautiful vectors and super easy to restyle.<\/p>\n

\"geomicons<\/a><\/figure>\n

The main Geomicons page<\/a> features a full demo of all the icons. They\u2019re pretty simple and follow the traditional single-color flat design style<\/a> we\u2019re all familiar with.<\/p>\n

But their setup info is certainly lacking on the demo page. If you wanna learn how to set this up you\u2019ll need to visit the GitHub repo<\/a> for instructions.<\/p>\n

By default, this library assumes you\u2019re working with CSS\/JS<\/strong> to have these icons embedded directly into page elements. Yet when you download the icons from GitHub you get all the raw SVG files<\/a> which you can add directly into HTML.<\/p>\n

Only trouble is that raw SVGs require more editing<\/strong> to change colors, whereas the JS\/CSS route gives you control over colors via the code.<\/p>\n

Simply add the geomicons.min.js<\/strong> script into your header and pass the data-icon<\/strong> attribute into HTML elements. These will auto-embed icons which you can then manipulate using CSS classes.<\/p>\n

Another thing I really like about Geomicons is the support for Node<\/a>. Here\u2019s a sample snippet from the GitHub repo:<\/p>\n

If you aren\u2019t familiar with Node then you\u2019ll probably never need to use any of the Node snippets. Same goes for the React.js version<\/a> of these icons.<\/p>\n
Still having support for major frameworks is a big deal. It\u2019s more proof that Geomicons are meant to support any type of website<\/strong> by focusing on performance first<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To give these icons a test run you can pull a copy through npm or download them directly via GitHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s also an outline iconset called Geomicons Wired<\/a> that you might wanna test as well.<\/p>\n
