All of the best IDEs<\/a> let you customize the interface<\/strong>. I usually find that dark themes work best for coding since they\u2019re easier on the eyes.<\/p>\n

Some programs like Sublime Text come packaged with dozens of free themes. But not all programs are like that which is why City Lights<\/a> is such a cool project.<\/p>\n

This is a free pack of dark UI assets<\/strong> you can add into Atom<\/a> or the Visual Studio Code<\/a> software.<\/p>\n

And with City Lights, you get more than just dark syntax highlighting. There\u2019s actually an entire library of free assets you can use to customize your IDE<\/strong>. These can include custom icons and even full GUI themes for the entire interface.<\/p>\n

Atom offers a lot more control over the UI so there\u2019s more to do with that program. In fact, City Lights offers a pack of 60 unique icons you can add to Atom<\/strong> for a more visual workflow.<\/p>\n

With Microsoft\u2019s Visual Studio Code you\u2019ll only get the City Lights syntax highlighter. But it\u2019s one of the better themes I\u2019ve seen for coding and it\u2019s perfect for web developers of all backgrounds.<\/p>\n
