Most modal windows seem to distract and annoy the visitor<\/strong> with opt-in fields<\/strong> and unwanted deals<\/strong>. These modals often take over the whole page, look terrible, and don\u2019t offer a clear way to close the window. Thankfully, iziModal.js<\/a><\/strong> is the exact opposite.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s one of the sleekest modal window plugins I\u2019ve ever seen and it gets me excited to interact with modals again.<\/p>\n

\"izimodal.js\"<\/a><\/figure>\n

iziModal.js is a jQuery plugin<\/strong> so you do need a copy of the jQuery library<\/strong> for this to work. But it\u2019s pretty lightweight<\/strong> and you can even include the library externally<\/strong> from CDNJS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Note this plugin comes with a lot<\/em> of different options<\/strong>. You can pass in options to style the modal size, frame type, and animation<\/strong>. But you can also create callback functions<\/strong> if the user closes a modal or clicks on a specific element.<\/p>\n

You can find plenty of examples<\/strong> on CodePen<\/a> but I really like the demos hosted on iziModal\u2019s home page<\/a><\/strong>. Specifically, check out the iframe embed option<\/strong> where it has an autoplay Vimeo player<\/strong> queued up in the modal.<\/p>\n

\"izimodal<\/a><\/figure>\n

The design is magnificent and the modal really feels like it\u2019s part of the interface<\/strong>. The quality of animation is impressive too, and it\u2019s all powered with CSS3 & jQuery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the main plugin page, you\u2019ll also find documentation tables<\/a> with code snippets<\/strong> for each of the available demos. Here\u2019s the shortest bit of code<\/strong> to use for a modal window popup.<\/p>\n

The iziModal()<\/code> function has over 45 different options<\/strong> that can be passed in to customize the modal window<\/strong>. It also has custom events<\/strong> that can trigger functions<\/strong> like when a modal opens, closes or goes full screen.<\/p>\n
This is an unbelievably massive project and it\u2019s easily one of my favorite modal window plugins from a design and usability standpoint<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
