As of late, Facebook has been introducing various features,<\/strong> that are, shall we say, inspired<\/em> by other social network services. Now, the company has decided to implement some major improvements to WhatsApp\u2019s Status<\/a> feature, giving it features that are reminiscent of Snapchat\u2019s \"Stories\" feature<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Upon receiving the WhatsApp update<\/a> that contains the new \"Status\"<\/strong> feature, users will now be able to see a new \"Status\"<\/strong> tab located just beside the \"Chats and Calls\"<\/strong> tab. Tapping on the \"My Status\"<\/strong> option will open up the \"Status\"<\/strong> creation screen.<\/p>\n

To create a status, you can opt to take a new photo or video<\/strong>, or use a pre-existing one instead. Alternatively, screenshots and GIFs can also be used as statuses<\/strong>. Once you\u2019ve selectEed an image or video, you\u2019ll be able to add emojis, captions, and even draw or write on the \"Status\"<\/strong> itself. When you\u2019re done customizing the \"Status\"<\/strong>, tapping on the \"Next\" <\/strong>button will cause the image to be set as your status for the next 24 hours, after which it will be automatically deleted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you would like to restrict your Statuses to only a selected group of people<\/strong>, WhatsApp lets you do so via the \"Status Privacy\"<\/strong> menu. From there, you\u2019re allowed to restrict certain people from viewing your statuses, or only allowing certain people to view your statuses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
