Bliss OS is an Android-for-PC OS from the team that brought you Bliss ROMs (one of the popular custom Android ROMs).<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s built on the top of Android-x86 \u2014 the first and original open-source project experimenting with Android for PCs.<\/p>\n<p>Bliss OS comes with numerous features. First and foremost, it supports Google Play Store, so you get to enjoy most of the apps and games for Android. Then, it offers customization features as Bliss ROMs, allowing you to make it your own. Also, it adds various compatibility, <strong>performance, and security features<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<p>You must fulfill the following requirements before installing Bliss OS.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Download Rufus<\/strong> for Windows from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/rufus.ie\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">its website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Download Bliss OS<\/strong> from <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blissos.org\/index.html#download\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> (do pick a stable build).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Get a flash drive<\/strong> having a minimum of 4GB of storage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Prepare the Flash Disk<\/h2>\n<p>Before installing Bliss OS (or any OS), you must have a bootable installation disk, which you can use to install the OS.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, you need to create a bootable flash drive using Rufus. When you\u2019re ready, just follow the steps below:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open <strong>Rufus<\/strong> <strong>&gt;<\/strong> click the <strong>SELECT<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Choose the downloaded Bliss OS ISO and click <strong>Open<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>If you have multiple flash drives, choose one under <strong>Device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Without changing any other option, click the <strong>START<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>If you see a <strong>Download required<\/strong> window, click the <strong>Yes<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/create-bootable-disk-bliss-os.jpg\" width=\"1155\" height=\"862\" alt=\"Create a bootable disk of Bliss OS\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Install Bliss OS on PC<\/h2>\n<h3>Part 1 \u2013 Boot via the disk<\/h3>\n<p>First of all, you must boot with the bootable disk you created in the last section. You must know to boot from a portable drive (google it for your system).<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Restart your PC to <strong>boot from your flash disk<\/strong>. You may need to open the boot menu by clicking Esc\/F10\/F12 key for choosing the disk.<\/li>\n<li>When you see the live menu, choose the first option: <strong>Live CD<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/the-boot-menu-bliss-os.jpg\" width=\"687\" height=\"531\" alt=\"The boot menu of Bliss OS\"><\/figure>\n<li>Bliss OS will boot and show you the lock screen if your system supports Android on PC. If you only see text even after an hour, your system doesn\u2019t support Bliss OS, and we can\u2019t do anything about it, unfortunately.<\/li>\n<li>If your system boots into Bliss OS and shows the lock screen, congrats! Your PC supports Android on PC, and you can continue the guide.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>However, the testing party isn\u2019t over yet. After you boot into Bliss OS, you must <strong>test the essential hardware<\/strong> such as Keyboard and Mouse (or Touchpad), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Battery, etc.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth weren\u2019t functioning on my system although all the other hardware was working superb for me.<\/p>\n<p>When you\u2019re sure everything works well with Bliss OS and you want to install it permanently on your system, then continue following the below steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Restart your PC to <strong>boot from your flash disk<\/strong>. You may need to open the boot menu by clicking Esc\/F10\/F12 key for choosing the disk.<\/li>\n<li>When you see the live menu, choose the third option: <strong>Installation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Part 2 \u2013 Create a partition<\/h3>\n<p>This is <strong>an optional part<\/strong>, which is only required if you want to create a new partition using the free space on your system\u2019s disk for installing Bliss OS.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>At the next screen, click <strong>C<\/strong>, then click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to create or modify partitions. I used a virtual machine, so I used the whole hard disk. You may use just some part of your hard disk (create a new partition in such a case).<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/choose-partition-bliss-os-setup.jpg\" width=\"763\" height=\"454\" alt=\"Choose partition for Bliss OS Setup\"><\/figure>\n<li>Click <strong>N<\/strong>, then click <strong>Enter<\/strong> for answering <strong>Do you want to use GPT?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Choose <strong>Free Space<\/strong> using up\/down keys, then use left\/right keys to select <strong>New<\/strong> at the bottom. And finally click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to create a partition.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/create-partition-free-space.jpg\" width=\"856\" height=\"516\" alt=\"Create a partition using the free space\"><\/figure>\n<li>Click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to select <strong>Primary<\/strong>, then click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to select the <strong>Size<\/strong>. You can edit the size if you don\u2019t want to create a partition of all free space.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Enter<\/strong> again while <strong>Bootable<\/strong> is highlighted to make it bootable.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/set-partition-bootable.jpg\" width=\"854\" height=\"519\" alt=\"Set the new partition as bootable\"><\/figure>\n<li>Use left\/right keys to highlight <strong>Write<\/strong>, then click <strong>Enter<\/strong>. You may get a confirmation message: type \u201c<strong>yes<\/strong>\u201d (without quotes) and hit <strong>Enter<\/strong> key.<\/li>\n<li>Use left\/right keys to highlight <strong>Quit<\/strong>, then click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to continue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Part 3 \u2013 Now install Bliss OS<\/h3>\n<p>Either you\u2019ve a ready-to-use partition for installing Android on PC or you\u2019d have created it in the last section. Either way, you can now install Bliss OS.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Choose the partition where you need to install Bliss OS, click <strong>Enter<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/choose-partition-installing-bliss-os.jpg\" width=\"782\" height=\"451\" alt=\"Choose partition for installing Bliss OS\"><\/figure>\n<li>Use up\/down keys to choose <strong>Ext4<\/strong>, click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to format the partition. If you get a confirmation dialog, click <strong>Y<\/strong>, then press <strong>Enter<\/strong> to format it.<\/li>\n<li>Use left\/right keys to choose <strong>Yes<\/strong>, then click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to install GRUB.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Enter<\/strong> while <strong>No<\/strong> is highlighted to install \/system as read-only.<\/li>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/make-system-directory-read.jpg\" width=\"770\" height=\"454\" alt=\"Make the \/system directory as read-only\"><\/figure>\n<li>Congrats! Bliss OS is installed. Click <strong>Enter<\/strong> to enjoy Android on PC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Part 4 \u2013 Start using Bliss OS<\/h3>\n<p>When Bliss OS is launched for the first time, it shows you a beautiful lock screen \u2014 just like Android. You can swipe up using the mouse\/touchpad to unlock the screen. Then, it will ask you to <strong>Select a Home app<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll suggest picking <strong>Desktop Mode<\/strong> since it provides a home screen with a taskbar at the bottom.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/lock-screen-bliss-os-android-pc.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" alt=\"Lock screen of Bliss OS - Android for PC\"><\/figure>\n<p>Finally, you\u2019ll see the home screen with a taskbar, unlike Android, if you select Desktop Mode. Upon clicking Bliss icon in the bottom-right, you\u2019ll see the app menu along with a search bar, somewhat like Windows\u2019s Start menu.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/app-menu-bliss-os-android-pc.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" alt=\"App menu of Bliss OS (Android for PC)\"><\/figure>\n<p>Bliss OS is superb, thanks to features like <strong>Android 10\u2019s Desktop Mode<\/strong>. The best catch is its support for multitasking \u2014 running apps side-by-side. For instance, you can open Settings along with Notes (as shown in the screenshot). Or you can finalize your presentation or take notes while watching the latest news.<\/p>\n<p>Also, it packs a whole lot of customization features, which are borrowed from Bliss ROMs. You can find such options under <strong>Settings &gt; Blissify<\/strong>, where you will see the customization options categorized under tabs.<\/p>\n<p>You can change the look & feel of the lock and recents screen and status bar or the whole interface.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/install-android-computer\/customization-options-bliss-os.jpg\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" alt=\"Customization options in Bliss OS\"><\/figure>\n<p>Finally, Bliss OS also supports the Google Play Store \u2014 the biggest and safest app store for Android. Moreover, it comes installed with the Play Store.
