The social media company is now  <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2016\/12\/news-feed-fyi-addressing-hoaxes-and-fake-news\/\" rel=\"noopener\">enlisting the help of third-party fact-check organizations<\/a> <strong>to assist in identifying fake news<\/strong> before it goes viral.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Facebook has revealed that this system helps to scrutinize the news stories that go through the Facebook News Feed. These fact-checked organizations are <strong>signatories of the <\/strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ifcncodeofprinciples.poynter.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Poynter\u2019s International Fact Checking Code of Principles<\/strong><\/a>, meaning that they are all professionals in their field.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, Facebook will not be demanding these organizations to check every single news article. Instead,<strong> these organizations will be working in tandem with Facebook\u2019s Fake News reporting system<\/strong>. Whenever a news article gets reported by multiple users as being fake, <strong>Facebook would gather these reports, along with other signals<\/strong>, <strong>and send the compiled data over to the organizations<\/strong>. So whenever you would like to share a post in the future, you\u2019ll be aware if the post is valid or a hoax.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the bright red <strong>\"disputed\"<\/strong> label, disputed news articles may also appear <strong>lower in the News Feed<\/strong>.
