After a long wait, WhatsApp has finally begun rolling out two-step verification on the Beta version of its chat app. To be a Beta tester, all you need to do is register here<\/a> to gain access to the Beta app.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re one of the few who are currently using the Beta version of the chat app, all you need to do to activate two-step verification is to go into settings and access your Account options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Once there, tap on the two-step verification option<\/strong>. You will then be asked to input a six digit password<\/strong> as well as an email address<\/strong>. If you forget your password, you will be retrieving your account via this entered email address.<\/p>\n

When you\u2019re done inputting your password and email address, two-step verification will be activated on your active phone number<\/strong>. From this point forward, activating WhatsApp with the corresponding phone number will require your passcode<\/strong>, or the email account<\/strong> you registered to reset it.<\/p>\n

Again, this is only available for the Beta version (2.16.346<\/a>) and it will probably be a while before you will see it on the official app itself.<\/p>\n
