You can download the Streak extension either from the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.streak.com\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">official site<\/a> or from the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/streak-crm-for-gmail\/pnnfemgpilpdaojpnkjdgfgbnnjojfik\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chrome Web Store<\/a>. Either way, once you\u2019ve downloaded it, just log into your Gmail account and you should be greeted by a pop-up asking to grant certain permissions to the extension.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-permissions.jpg\" alt=\"Streak Permissions\" height=\"299\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve granted permissions to Streak, you\u2019ll be greeted by another pop-up window. This <strong>isn\u2019t permanent<\/strong>, so don\u2019t worry if you feel that you might use Streak for other things later on.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-presets.jpg\" alt=\"Pipeline Presets\" height=\"335\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<p>Streak will also offer to give you a quick guided tour. Once you\u2019re done with the tour (or chose to skip it), you\u2019re free to start using Streak how you please.<\/p>\n<h2>Streak\u2019s CRM Features<\/h2>\n<p>At the core of Streak are what it calls <strong>Pipelines<\/strong> and <strong>Boxes<\/strong>. Correspondance is <strong>grouped into Boxes<\/strong>, and these Boxes are moved along the Pipeline as a sale, or any other business process, progresses.<\/p>\n<p>A Pipeline is essentialy a <strong>spreadsheet of a particular business process<\/strong>. Streak comes preloaded with preset sales-related and business-related pipelines such as Sales \/ CRM, Hiring and Dealflow, plus some personal Pipelines such as Trip Planning. Of course, Streak also lets you <strong>create your own Pipelines<\/strong>, in case none of the presets fit the bill.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-pipeline.jpg\" alt=\"Pipeline\" height=\"164\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<p>To create a new Pipeline, just click on the <strong>+New<\/strong> link beside <strong>Pipelines<\/strong> in the left Gmail sidebar. The previously-mentioned preset window will appear and you can pick the type of Pipeline you want.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-new-pipeline.jpg\" alt=\"Creating New Pipeline\" height=\"300\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<p>Boxes are Streak\u2019s term for containers that are used to <strong>store information about a client<\/strong>, customer, potential employee and so on. Boxes can store emails, files and even reminders. Boxes can only be <strong>associated with one Pipeline<\/strong>, and have to be <strong>tagged with one of the stages<\/strong> in the Pipeline.<\/p>\n<p>Creating a Box is simple. Just select an email using the checkbox, then click on <strong>Boxes<\/strong>. You can <strong>name the box yourself<\/strong> or <strong>choose from a list of suggestions<\/strong> provided by Streak. After you\u2019ve named the Box, you have to select a Pipeline for the box. Email Tracking will let you know <strong>when the recipient has read your email<\/strong>. Streak will notify you when an email of yours has been read, and can even inform you of when, where and how many times a particular email has been opened.<\/p>\n<p>Email tracking is enabled by default, and can be toggled on a per-email basis in the <strong>New Message<\/strong> window. It can also be disabled permanently in the <strong>Streak Settings<\/strong> screen, which can be found alongside all the other Gmail settings.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-email-tracking.jpg\" alt=\"Email Tracking\" height=\"200\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Snippets<\/h2>\n<p>Streak also supports <strong>Snippets<\/strong>. Snippets are <strong>pre-written email messages<\/strong> that can save you the hassle of having to type identical emails over and over.<\/p>\n<p>Creating a snippet is as simple as typing a message in the <strong>New Message<\/strong> window, clicking on the <strong>Snippets<\/strong> button in the bottom row and clicking <strong>Create New Snippet From Current Message<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-create-snippet.jpg\" alt=\"Create New Snippet\" height=\"250\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<p>The <strong>Manage Snippets<\/strong> window will then pop up. This is where you name your Snippet, set the Shortcut Text and the Pipeline the snippet should be associated with.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-manage-snippets.jpg\" alt=\"Manage Snippets\" height=\"354\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Send Later<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to email tracking and Snippets, Streak has a <strong>Send Later<\/strong> feature. Send Later lets you <strong>schedule emails to be sent<\/strong> in the future. You can also schedule email responses. To use the Send Later feature, click on the <strong>Send Later <\/strong>icon in the New Message window and enter the date and time. Note that you can\u2019t activate both Send Later and Email Tracking.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/crm-gmail-streak\/streak-send-later.jpg\" alt=\"Send Later\" height=\"325\" width=\"500a\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Mail Merge<\/h2>\n<p>Finally, Streak also has a <strong>Mail Merge<\/strong> feature. Mail Merge is a tool to <strong>send mass customized emails<\/strong>. Just click on the Mail Merge link in the New Message window. You can either upload a CSV file with a list of emails, or tell Streak to extract addresses from Boxes. Once you\u2019ve gotten the emails, it\u2019s a simple matter of writing out your email.
