It\u2019s a nice feature, and perfect for times when you can\u2019t or don\u2019t want to tap your phone to activate the voice search.<\/p>\n<p>The web version of Google has had Voice Search for a while, and you can also use the hands-free <strong>\"Ok Google\" hotword on your computer<\/strong> too, albeit with a few limitations. Here\u2019s how.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\"><strong>Recommended Reading:<\/strong> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/google-glass\/\">Everything You Need To Know About Google Glass<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Getting \u201cOk Google\u201d On Your Computer<\/h2>\n<p>Do note that the \"Ok Google\" hotword on your computer can only be used on Chrome.<\/p>\n<p>Head to the Chrome Web Store and download the official <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/voice-actions-for-chrome\/hhpjefokaphndbbidpehikcjhldaklje\">Google Voice Search Hotword<\/a> extension, currently in beta. Once you\u2019ve installed it, you need to give the extension <strong>permission to access your microphone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/ok-google-hotword-computer\/google-search-with-hotword.jpg\" alt=\"Google Search With Hotword Active\" height=\"185\" width=\"500\"><\/p>\n<p>To start using it, just visit <strong>Google.com<\/strong> or open Chrome\u2019s <strong>New Tab<\/strong> page and then say \"Ok Google\", followed by your question.
