Then, install the Android app onto your device. Getting the desktop and Android to communicate with each other is (surprisingly) easy.<\/p>\n<h3>Connecting Android To Desktop Server<\/h3>\n<p>First, <strong>start the desktop server<\/strong>. Then click on <strong>Settings<\/strong> and choose a folder save location under <strong>Photo Save Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/android-cool-photo-transfer\/desktop-server.jpg\" alt=\"Desktop Server\" width=\"500\" height=\"343\"><\/figure>\n<p>Now launch the Android app and a prompt to connect your device will appear, tapping on <strong>Auto Connect<\/strong> will get them paired up if both devices are <strong>connected to the same network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/android-cool-photo-transfer\/android-connect.jpg\" alt=\"Android Connect\" width=\"500\" height=\"445\"><\/figure>\n<h3>Transferring Photos<\/h3>\n<p>Once both devices are connected, you can select photos from your Android device to send it over to your desktop PC. Once you have selected a photo, there are a few ways to transfer the photos to your desktop.<\/p>\n<p>You can <strong>perform finger gestures<\/strong> like swiping left or right, up or down on the phone to transfer the photos to your desktop. Alternatively, you can also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>shake your phone<\/li>\n<li>touch the monitor with the phone<\/li>\n<li>wave your hand over the proximity sensor on your phone<\/li>\n<li>clap your hands<\/li>\n<li>snap your fingers<\/li>\n<li>whistle (we\u2019re not kidding)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/android-cool-photo-transfer\/android-transfer.jpg\" alt=\"Android Transfer\" width=\"500\" height=\"427\"><\/figure>\n<p>Doing any of those gestures will <strong>automatically transfer<\/strong> the chosen photo to your desktop. You can then navigate to the folder you\u2019ve selected earlier to further edit the photos on your desired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/11-free-alternatives-softwares-to-adobe-photoshop\/\">photo editing software<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/android-cool-photo-transfer\/desktop-transfer.jpg\" alt=\"Desktop Transfer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\"><\/figure>\n<p>Additionally, <strong>rotating your phone rotates the photo<\/strong> on the monitor as well. And when you pinch on the photo, the <strong>same image on your desktop monitor reacts<\/strong> as if you are zooming out on it.<\/p>\n<h2>Limitations<\/h2>\n<p>The app is available at <strong>$1.93<\/strong> at the Google Play Store but you can check out the free version to get a taste of it first. Mind you, the transferred photos on the free version <strong>has a nasty watermark you wouldn\u2019t want to feature<\/strong> in your photos.<\/p>\n<p>Note that both versions <strong>do not allow for multiple photo transfers<\/strong> and the the desktop server app is currently supported on <strong>Windows only<\/strong> (Mac version coming soon).
