The iPhone has a decent built-in camera<\/a>, but the stock camera app has very limited functionality, especially for editing videos<\/a>. While we wait for iOS improvements, we rely on apps to enhance our video recording experience on the iPhone. One such app is Videon, designed to optimize and enhance your video recording experience.<\/p>\n

Videon<\/a><\/strong> is an iOS-exclusive app that allows you to edit, merge, trim, or split your recordings. You can also take photos while video recording, a feature not found in many other apps. These great features come at a small price of $2.99, but we believe it\u2019s worth it. Here\u2019s our take on Videon.<\/p>\n

Setting Up Videon<\/h2>\n

When you first launch the app, you\u2019ll see a lot of buttons. Here is what each button does:<\/p>\n

  1. The \u2018Red\u2019 dot button starts recording.<\/li>\n
  2. The \u2018Camera\u2019 icon takes photos while recording a video.<\/li>\n
  3. The gear icon opens the camera \u2018Settings\u2019.<\/li>\n
  4. The \u2018Wheel\u2019 at the bottom right is the zoom function.<\/li>\n
  5. The 3 buttons in the center lock Exposure, Focus, and White Balance.<\/li>\n
  6. The square icon on the bottom left accesses your past recordings.<\/li>\n
  7. Turns on the camera flashlight.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In the settings, you can choose to use the front or back camera.<\/p>\n

    The settings also let you change the resolution for your recordings<\/strong>. You can only change the resolution of the back camera; the front camera\u2019s resolution will be maxed out.<\/p>\n

    You can change the recording frame rate to have better quality videos under low light conditions<\/strong> with a lower frame rate. The default camera uses the 24-30 frames per second option.<\/p>\n
