Plus, <strong>dark themes can make anything look a whole lot cooler<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you work on Dreamweaver a lot, you might like this particular tip we have for you. We found a way to change the HTML view on Adobe\u2019s Dreamweaver into <strong>\u2018night mode\u2019<\/strong>, thanks to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ultrashortcuts.com\/dreamweaver\/\">CS6Shortcuts.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This is a really cool trick for <strong>coders, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/cheatsheet-wallpapers-for-designers-developers\/\">designers or developers<\/a><\/strong> working on Dreamweaver. It works on Adobe Dreamweaver CS6, CS5.5, CS4, CS3 and on both <strong>Windows<\/strong> and <strong>Mac<\/strong> platforms. And if you don\u2019t like it, it\u2019s easily reversible.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how you set it up.<\/p>\n<h2>Changing Dreamweaver Coding Theme<\/h2>\n<p>First, you will have to download this <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cs6shortcuts.com\/dreamweaver_colors.zip\">Colors.xml<\/a> file, the file that will <strong>change the colors of the HTML tags and its elements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Replace Colors.xml file<\/h3>\n<p>With Dreamweaver closed, navigate to the folder where the Colors.xml file is.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Windows XP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>OS hard drive &gt; Documents and Settings &gt; [yourusername] &gt; Application Data &gt; Adobe &gt; Dreamweaver &gt; Configuration &gt; CodeColoring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Windows Vista<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>OS hard drive &gt; Users &gt; [yourusername] &gt; Application Data &gt; Adobe &gt; Dreamweaver &gt; Configuration &gt; CodeColoring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Windows 7 & 8<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>OS hard drive &gt; Users &gt; [yourusername] &gt; AppData &gt; Roaming &gt; Adobe &gt; Dreamweaver &gt; en_US &gt; Configuration &gt; CodeColoring.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mac<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[username] &gt; Library &gt; Application Support &gt; Adobe &gt; Dreamweaver &gt; en_US &gt; Configuration &gt; CodeColoring.<\/p>\n<p>Upon entering the <strong>CodeColoring folder<\/strong>, you\u2019ll see a single <strong>Colors.xml<\/strong> file.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/dark-theme-dreamweaver\/dreamweaver-colors.jpg\" alt=\"Dreamweaver Colors\" width=\"500\" height=\"142\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Rename<\/strong> the file to <strong>Colors_Original.xml<\/strong>. By doing this, you can keep the original file, for if you want to revert to default settings.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/dark-theme-dreamweaver\/dreamweaver-original.jpg\" alt=\"Dreamweaver Original Colors\" width=\"500\" height=\"142\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Move<\/strong> or <strong>Copy and Paste<\/strong> the Colors.xml file into the same folder.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/dark-theme-dreamweaver\/dreamweaver-edited.jpg\" alt=\"Edited Colors\" width=\"500\" height=\"142\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Changing Background Color<\/h2>\n<p>With the light colored text settings inserted, you will have to change the default background color of the code window from white to black.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, open Dreamweaver and press <span class=\"key\">Ctrl<\/span> + <span class=\"key\">U<\/span> to open the <strong>Preferences<\/strong>. Look for <strong>Code Coloring<\/strong> on the right panel and change the <strong>Default Background color<\/strong> setting to something dark.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/dark-theme-dreamweaver\/dreamweaver-background.jpg\" alt=\"Dreamweaver Background Color\" width=\"500\" height=\"321\"><\/figure>\n<p>A pure black background might not work so well because it will contrast with the white text too much, so a color like <strong>#2B2E46<\/strong> works really well; you can experiment with <strong>other dark colors<\/strong> to find one that suits you best.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/dark-theme-dreamweaver\/dark-dreamweaver.jpg\" alt=\"Dark Theme Dreamweaver\" width=\"500\" height=\"330\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Revert To Default Settings<\/h2>\n<p>If you do not really like the change, the process is easily removed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remove<\/strong> the just inserted Colors.xml file.
