Use Web WeChat<\/h2>\n<p>One thing that sets WeChat apart from other messaging apps is the ability to <strong>chat with your WeChat contacts on a computer<\/strong>. You don\u2019t even have to download or install a program as you just need to access <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/web.wechat.com\/\">web.wechat.com<\/a> on a <strong>desktop browser<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Then, scan the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/qr-code-artworks\/\" rel=\"noopener\">QR Code<\/a> shown on the website with the app. You do this by tapping the <strong>Magic Wand<\/strong> icon on the top right corner and selecting <strong>Scan QR Code<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/enhance-wechat-experience\/web-chat.jpg\" alt=\"Web WeChat\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>Once the QR Code is scanned, your web browser is temporarily linked to your device. You can also start a new conversation with one of your WeChat contacts.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Transfer Files With Web WeChat<\/h2>\n<p>Web WeChat also allows you to <strong>transfer files<\/strong> of less than 10 MB from your computer to your device. Share Only Text On WeChat Moments<\/h2>\n<p>The Moments feed works similarly to a Facebook feed where you can like and comment on photos shared by your contacts. Don\u2019t want to share photos? Share text like a status update instead by <strong>tapping and holding the camera icon<\/strong> on the top right corner till a text box appears. Likes and comments apply.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/enhance-wechat-experience\/moments-text.jpg\" alt=\"Moments Text\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>Since you have to approve of contacts, only the people you approve will be able to see, like and comment on your photos or statuses.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Have Fun With WeChat\u2019s Social Features<\/h2>\n<p>WeChat has many <strong>fun social features<\/strong> that are not found on most messaging apps out there. These social features allow you to <strong>look for and chat with random people<\/strong> who are also using the app.<\/p>\n<h3>Look Around<\/h3>\n<p>Look Around lets you connect with <strong>random people who are physically around you<\/strong>. To use Look Around, you must enable Locations so the \u2018matchmaking\u2019 can commence. You can see the user\u2019s name, custom status, their avatar or profile picture and their distance from you (it\u2019s a bit off, to be honest).<\/p>\n<p>Strike up a conversation with anyone. Note that when you are in Look Around mode, other users can look for you as well.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/enhance-wechat-experience\/look-around.jpg\" alt=\"WeChat Look Around\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>To remove yourself from this option, tap the three dots on the top right corner, then select <strong>Clear Data and Exit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Shake<\/h3>\n<p>Shake is another feature where you can <strong>meet random people not too far from you<\/strong>. It gives you a random person (who is also using Shake) to chat with. You can now toss digital messages into a \u2018sea\u2019 and let random people pick up your message, keep it or add a reply before tossing it back to the \u2018sea\u2019. Here are 2 ways they can connect with you.<\/p>\n<h3>Use A Unique WeChat ID<\/h3>\n<p>Using a WeChat ID is like a <strong>unique username<\/strong> that doesn\u2019t have to be your real name. You can only set it once so think this through. Once you\u2019ve set this up, friends can easily search for you. These QR codes come in a variety of designs. Pick one and insert your name card info, then save it to your device\u2019s photo gallery. Your friends can then add you by scanning this QR code with WeChat.
