Chat Heads<\/h2>\n<p>You can now chat to your Facebook friends within the Facebook app by <strong>swiping from left to right<\/strong>. When you start chatting with them, you\u2019ll notice this new feature called <strong>Chat Heads<\/strong> which are these circles with your contact\u2019s profile picture.<\/p>\n<p>You can <strong>open multiple Chat Heads<\/strong> when chatting to many friends, tapping on it will open up the chat with that particular person.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/multiple-chatheads.jpg\" alt=\"Multiple Chatheads\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>These Chat Heads <strong>stay visible<\/strong> as you use the app. The cool thing is that you can <strong>tap and drag them around<\/strong> so it does not get in the way with tapping the Like button on your news feed. When you\u2019ve finished chatting, all you have to do is drag the Chat Head to the <strong>lower part<\/strong> of your display to <strong>close it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/move-chatheads.jpg\" alt=\"Move Chatheads\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<h2>2. Send Stickers<\/h2>\n<p>Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/whatsapp-alternatives\/\">messaging apps<\/a> on smartphones have stickers which are like <strong>giant emoticons<\/strong>. Now Facebook has them too! You can access it by tapping on the <strong>Smiley icon<\/strong> on the text field. Your normal keyboard will then be replaced with these large emoticons.<\/p>\n<p>To go back to your keyboard, tap on the Smiley icon on the text field again.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/stickers.jpg\" alt=\"Stickers\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>You can also <strong>download more stickers<\/strong> at the sticker store. Go to the store by tapping on the <strong>basket icon<\/strong> at the bottom, and download the stickers you want to use.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/sticker-store.jpg\" alt=\"Sticker Store\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<h2>3. Make Free Calls<\/h2>\n<p>You can also make <strong>free calls over Wi-Fi<\/strong> now to your Facebook friends who have the Facebook app installed on their smartphone. All you have to do is tap on the <strong>information icon<\/strong> when you start chatting with them and then press the <strong>Free Call button<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/free-call.jpg\" alt=\"Facebook Free Call\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>If some of your friends have the free Call button disabled, they have to first <strong>update the Facebook app<\/strong> on their device to the latest version. Also, Facebook free calls <strong>only supports voice<\/strong> (no video yet) at the moment.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Send Voice Message<\/h2>\n<p>Besides sharing photos with your Facebook friends via Facebook Message, you can also record your voice and send them short voice messages. All you have to do is tap on the <strong>Plus icon<\/strong> and then tap on <strong>Record Voice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/record.jpg\" alt=\"Record Voice\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Tap and hold the record button<\/strong> while speaking; release your finger once you\u2019re done. The short clip will then be sent to the other person to hear. Share Post to FB Pages, Groups, Message<\/h2>\n<p>Previously, sharing posts through the Facebook app only allowed you to share it to your own Facebook timeline. The updated app now allows you to share it to places other than your own timeline. All you have to do is tap on the <strong>Share button<\/strong> below a post on your news feed.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/share.jpg\" alt=\"Facebook Share\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>You get two options: Edit and Share the post or message it to a friend.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/share-message.jpg\" alt=\"Share Message\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<p>If you tap on \u2018On your own timeline\u2019, you can see the other options available i.e. share to your <strong>friend\u2019s timeline<\/strong>, to a <strong>Facebook group<\/strong> you\u2019re in or to a <strong>Facebook page<\/strong> that you manage.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/facebook-app-for-iphone\/share-options.jpg\" alt=\"Share Options\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\"><\/figure>\n<h2>6. Separate Feeds for Categories<\/h2>\n<p>Taking its cue from the desktop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/facebook-news-feed-design\/\">Facebook\u2019s latest news feed<\/a> design, the iPhone app also features <strong>different feeds\/categories<\/strong> you can opt to display. Photo Filters in Messaging Section<\/h2>\n<p>There are also some <strong>editing features<\/strong> in the photos that you send to your Facebook friends. After choosing a picture, you are able to <strong>crop<\/strong>, <strong>brighten<\/strong> and choose from a few <strong>filters<\/strong> to add to your picture.
