1. Add Google Account To Calendar App<\/h2>\n

Launch the Calendar app and open the \u2018Charms\u2019 menu ( Windows Key<\/span> + C<\/span> ). Then, click on Settings > Accounts > Add an account > Google<\/strong> then login with your Google account email and password.<\/p>\n

Once the account is added, open the \u2018Charms\u2019 menu again and click on Settings > Options<\/strong>. You\u2019ll notice only one option present for your Google account<\/strong>, while you\u2019re not able to find any sort of shared or synced calendars you have on Google Calendar on a web browser.<\/p>\n

2. Download User Agent Switcher<\/h2>\n

\u2018User Agent Switcher\u2019 is an extension for both Chrome<\/a> and Firefox<\/a> web browsers. It makes the browser trick a website to make it think it\u2019s being viewed through a different device. In this case, we will use this to trick your Google Calendar into thinking it\u2019s being viewed from an iPhone, not a Windows 8 laptop.<\/p>\n

Download and install either web extension. Then, click the User Agent Switcher icon<\/strong> on your browser, and select iPhone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Temporarily Disable JavaScript<\/h2>\n

Next you\u2019ll have to disable JavaScript on your browser.<\/p>\n

For Google Chrome, go to Settings<\/strong> and click on Show advance settings<\/strong>. Under the header \u2018Privacy\u2019, click on the Content settings<\/strong> button. Under the header \u2018JavaScript\u2019, select \u2018Do not allow any site to run JavaScript\u2019 and click on OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For Firefox, go to Options<\/strong> and under the Content <\/strong>tab, uncheck \u2018Enable JavaScript \u2018and click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4. Change Google Calendar Sync Settings<\/h2>\n

With \u2018iPhone\u2019 selected for User Agent Switcher and JavaScript turned off on your web browser, go to m.google.com\/sync\/settings\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll be able to see \u2018WindowsMail\u2019, click on it.<\/p>\n

On your address bar, at the end of the URL, you\u2019ll see \"...MultiCalendars=false<\/code>\". Replace the word \u2018false\u2019 with \u2018true\u2019 to turn it into \"...MultiCalendars=true<\/code>\".<\/p>\n

Then press Enter<\/span> on your keyboard.<\/p>\n

Once the page refreshes, you\u2019ll be able to see the Calendars that you\u2019ve created, as well as shared Calendars. Check the ones you want synced with the Windows 8 Calendar app and click on Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. Enable Shared Calendars<\/h2>\n

If the Calendar app was running in the background while you were going through the steps above, close ( Alt<\/span> + F4<\/span> ) and reopen it to ensure the changes you\u2019ve made are available.<\/p>\n

In the Calendar app, open the Charms menu and click on Settings<\/strong> then Options<\/strong>. You should now be able to show shared or your own calendars from Google Calendar. You can also change the highlight color for each calendar here.<\/p>\n

Finally, revert the settings on your browser. Disable or uninstall User Agent Switcher if you\u2019re not going to use it again and re-enable JavaScript to ensure your browser is working correctly.<\/p>\n
