It\u2019ll be able to identify the credit card information linked on your Google account.<\/p>\n<p>For this to to work, Google Wallet requires <strong>Near Field Communication (NFC) technology<\/strong> available, which unfortunately is only available on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/pay\/send\/answer\/9158057?hl=en&answer=1347934&visit_id=637553712026083420-1865673237&rd=1\">certain smartphones and tablets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/digital-wallets\/google.jpg\" alt=\"Google Wallet\" width=\"500\" height=\"387\"><\/figure>\n<p>You <strong>link your debit or credit card<\/strong> to your Google account and you can leave your wallet at home \u2013 but at the moment, it only works with phones and credit cards from the US and <strong>only in the US<\/strong>. Currently, it supports <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pay.google.com\/intl\/en_sg\/about\/\">20+ merchants<\/a> on the ground and online, promising more merchants to come.<\/p>\n<h3><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/ios\/ios-16\/\">Apple\u2019s Passbook<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Apple\u2019s Passbook was introduced in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/apple-ios6-features\/\">iOS 6<\/a> and relies on scanning 2D barcodes to help you manage your movie, concert and airline tickets as well as <strong>loyalty cards and coupons<\/strong> for selected merchants.<\/p>\n<p>The result: you get <strong>location and time-based notifications<\/strong> when you\u2019re near a cafe where you can use your loyalty card or when your airline, movie or concert ticket is nearing its due date.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/digital-wallets\/passbook.jpg\" alt=\"Apple Passbook\" width=\"500\" height=\"522\"><\/figure>\n<p>You <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hongkiat.com\/blog\/ios-passbook-apps\/\">add passes<\/a> through apps that support Passbook. So instead of bringing your grocery coupons and stack of loyalty cards wherever you go, you can store it in Passbook.<\/p>\n<h3><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/squareup.com\/us\/en\/payments\">Square Wallet<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Square wallet is available on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/square-point-of-sale-pos\/id335393788\">iOS<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/developer?id=Square,+Inc.&hl=en\">Android<\/a> and works similar to Lemon Wallet, with a few additional cool features. You link your credit card to the app, but instead of paying directly with the credit card, it requires the use of <strong>merchant cards<\/strong> which is why Square works only with their <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/squareup.com\/us\/en\/press\/square-launches-merchant-directory-online\">list of merchants<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Because it is <strong>location based<\/strong>, the store knows you\u2019re ordering something and will charge it to the card linked on your Square account.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/digital-wallets\/square-wallet.jpg\" alt=\"Square Wallet\" width=\"500\" height=\"493\"><\/figure>\n<p>It features <strong>Hands-Free Checkout<\/strong> as well where you \u2018favorite\u2019 the merchant and all you have to do is say your name at checkout. As you visit these stores, you can also earn rewards and discounts on your next visit. You can also purchase <strong>in-store gift vouchers<\/strong> to be sent to other Square users.<\/p>\n<h3>Chirpify<\/h3>\n<p>Chirpify lets you use social media apps like Twitter and Instagram to buy, sell, send and receive money. You have to first register for an account on their website; it uses <strong>PayPal to send or receive money<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On your account dashboard, you can create a listing if you\u2019re <strong>selling something<\/strong> or want to <strong>start a fund raiser<\/strong>. You can <strong>create a listing via Instagram<\/strong> with the captions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2018<strong>$5 #instasale<\/strong>\u2018 to sell<\/li>\n<li>\u2018<strong>$0 #instagimme<\/strong>\u2018 for a giveaway<\/li>\n<li>\u2018<strong>$10 #instafund<\/strong>\u2018 for a donation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A listing will then be created on your Chirpify account dashboard.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/digital-wallets\/chirpify.jpg\" alt=\"Chirpify\" width=\"500\" height=\"275\"><\/figure>\n<p>Other Chirpify members buying your item simply <strong>comment \u2018Buy\u2019 on Instagram<\/strong> or reply with <strong>\u2018Buy\u2019 on a Tweet<\/strong>, and the transaction is complete. Chirpify users can also <strong>send money between friends<\/strong> or <strong>make donations<\/strong> via Twitter. There is a <strong>5% transaction fee<\/strong> whenever money enters your Chirpify account.<\/p>\n<h3><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/venmo.com\/\">Venmo<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Venmo is an app available for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.venmo&hl=en\">iOS<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.venmo&hl=en\">Android<\/a> for <strong>transferring money between friends<\/strong>. Once you have an account, you can <strong>link a bank account, credit or debit card<\/strong> to it. It works similar to PayPal but only between two parties with Venmo accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Sending money is like writing an email to a friend, plus the amount you want to transfer. You can even share the transaction with a message on <strong>Facebook, Twitter<\/strong> or <strong>Foursquare<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/digital-wallets\/venmo.jpg\" alt=\"Venmo\" width=\"500\" height=\"444\"><\/figure>\n<p>Access your main account via their <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/venmo.com\/w\/signup\">website<\/a>, but make your transactions via your smartphone. Venmo is a free app but only currently works with major US banks and phone numbers.<\/p>\n<h3><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/\">PayPal<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Paypal is another famous service that can send money between other PayPal users and friends. Available for both <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/paypal-send-and-request-money-safely\/id283646709\">iOS<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.paypal.android.p2pmobile&hl=en\">Android<\/a>, you can easily <strong>send money to other users<\/strong> just like you would on the PayPal website.
