It\u2019s as easy as writing a new post. In fact, we\u2019ll be using the new post editor in WordPress to create this.<\/p>\n<p>The post editor is one of the most versatile tools in WordPress, and hardly anyone knows it. Your \u201cAbout Me\u201d page should focus on your accomplishments in blogging, engage the reader with some questions, and include pictures of you blogging. Already have this page made? Perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Now, we\u2019re going to take all this over to the <strong>WordPress new post editor.<\/strong> Open it up, and upload your image. We\u2019ll be doing much of this from the <strong>HTML tab.<\/strong> When you upload an image WordPress automatically generates the HTML code for it. Go to the HTML tab, and create a space (hit enter) above your image. Then, write a little hook message here, something like \u201cWho\u2019s Behind this Site?\u201d or even just \u201cAbout Me.\u201d Be creative.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/wordpress-about-me\/add-new-post.jpg\" height=\"379\" width=\"500\" alt=\"add new post\"><\/p>\n<p>Add a short, 3-4 sentence description meant to intrigue the reader. At the end of this text block, write a sentence like \u201cFind out more here\u201d and link to your actual About page.<\/p>\n<h2>Style Your Message<\/h2>\n<p>Now go the <strong>Visual Tab.<\/strong> Center your text. When you go back to HTML, you\u2019ll notice that WordPress wrote some code for you, in the form of a \u201cp style.\u201d This is the beauty of creating widgets in the new post editor; WordPress autowrite codes for you! You then just add some basic CSS!<\/p>\n<p>Create something like this:<\/p>\n<pre>&lt;p style=\"text-align: center; font-size: 16px; font-family: georgia, arial, verdana;\"&gt; YOUR MESSAGE &lt;\/p&gt;<\/pre>\n<p>Make sure to close of the p style with a <code>&lt;\/p&gt;<\/code>.<\/p>\n<p>And add any other CSS you can think of or need. Don\u2019t know CSS? Just Google Search \u201cCSS code for ____\u201d and in the blank put what you\u2019re trying to do. Then copy and paste the p style. Place it around your text block message below the image. Style it however you\u2019d like, and close it off. If you forget to close a p style, it\u2019s no big deal. The styling will apply to more text that you want it to, but everyone make this mistake at least once.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/wordpress-about-me\/visual-tab.jpg\" height=\"262\" width=\"500\" alt=\"visual tab\"><\/p>\n<p>Use codes <code>&lt;em&gt;<\/code> to italicize and <code>&lt;strong&gt;<\/code> to bold your text, and remember to close those off too.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re done creating, for now, and it\u2019s time for the fun to begin.<\/p>\n<h2>Place Your Work in the Sidebar<\/h2>\n<p>In the HTML tab, copy and paste everything you created. Go to the <strong>Appearance, Widgets tab,<\/strong> and drag a <strong>blank Text widget<\/strong> into your sidebar. Paste in your code. Then hit Save, and click over to your blog\u2019s homepage. How does it look?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/wordpress-about-me\/text-widget.jpg\" height=\"428\" width=\"437\" alt=\"text widget\"><\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll almost for certain want to make some modifications here. The image may be out of size, or the fonts may not show up as how you imagined but not to worry, you can edit all of this directly in the Text widget, or better yet, in your new post editor where you can preview changes more easily.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.hongkiat.com\/uploads\/wordpress-about-me\/final-about-us.jpg\" height=\"356\" width=\"500\" alt=\"final about us\"><\/p>\n<h2>Fun Styling Features and Other Additions<\/h2>\n<p>CSS really is a fun game. Here are some ways to make this About Me section really pop.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Use exotic colors.<\/li>\n<li>Use a dotted or color border.<\/li>\n<li>Put an \u201cOpt In\u201d form right below your text.
