Great article!
We’ve all seen some websites with poor content and little traffic but with a rather good ranking as the webmaster focuses on backlinks.
So how can anyone select popular websites with a significant traffic? If Alexa is not THE perfect tool it still gives a rough idea about the amount of visitors a website can get.

I also think this is a horrible way to increase your standing with Alexa… I would value my Google stats/ranking quality more.

Alexa Ranking = LOL

Maybe it’s a pride thing for people to have a high alexa rank, it must be because it is a completely useless endeavor. I do appreciate the ingenuity of the plug-in itself but would never point all my internal links somewhere else. It does remind me of a plug-in I use a lot however: WP No External Links:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-noexternallinks/
Same concept but it turns all your outward pointing links to point to internal URLs.

This is all just my opinion though, good job on making a plug-in do this it is still a pretty cool concept.

Alexa ranking matters a lot for website popularity so now a days everybody trying to get very good rank on alexa for his/her website.

i don’t think alexa rank counts for much any hows. most people who use the alexa toolbar are into tech sites so its hard for any non tech sites to get a good alexa ranking.

its a shame that most techies use the alexa ranking to measure a sites popularity though.

This plugin is no good, since it screws with your links, and in this way diminishing your Google ranking and search results. A better options is to make the Alexa redirecting JavaScript-powered: in this way the HTML will not be modified, and the redirects will still work. good to see so many people interested in alexa ranks, i run an alexa auto surf website, surf sieve, where the installation of toolbar is must before the surfing starts, hope it helps!
