What my Mother taught me about Making Money Online

Here’s a little mother and son chat I had yesterday, not really tech, surprisingly money making related.

On my way to the living room

Boy, are you making some money from the online Google..

Me: Yeah! Google AdSense. Why ask?

(Ignore my question) Ahh yes, Google AdSense. Do you click your own ads?

Me: Of course no la~ Why would Iâ€¦

(Interrupt) Do you know if you clicked on your Google AdSense ads, your account will be suspended?

Me: â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦â€¦..

So here’s a very interesting thought for you bloggers or webmasters who are making money online. Does your folks know what you’re doing online? or Do you tell them how you make these money?

my parents know i’m earning some money, and kept asking questions when i wanted to apply for bank accounts for paypal purposes. lol.

I thought it was hilarious when I found out my dad got a Gmail account (back then when it was invite only), but your story is even more funny :) How did she know about click fraud?

One day this might even happen: “Aiya, boy! Your Google Adsense placement is not optimized for maximum CTR! Come, let mummy show you how…”

My parents didn’t really understand what I was doing until Advertlets showed up on Technorati. Heh. Eh, here’s something to think about - why not get your parents to start a blog? I’m going to convince mine to do so…
