I’m the author of a shortening service that’s a little bit different from “traditional” URL shorteners. http://xm.my/ creates short links for maps, currently using Google Maps.

Not sure if it fits into the list – but i’d appreciate it.

Try http://shortener.org/
It has a bookmarklet for Firefox/Chrome and it’s able to submit to social networks in a few clicks.

It provides a bookmarklet, click tracker, thumbnail preview, an API, Facebook integration and a WordPress plugin… :-)

Many of these knockoffs have come and gone, but Snipurl (http://sn.im) has stood the test of time. I have my snips from 2001, all easily manageable and searchable, along with easy to remember nicknames.

It’s not hard to create a silly service with one feature. Much harder to sustain a decent, spamfree service for eight years and running…as witnessed by tr.im going kaput.
