Hey,
Check out http://www.ezyzip.com. Lets you do the same thing but you dont need to upload/download files to a server (i.e. faster and better privacy). Its a java applet that runs in the browser.

thanks mate.. I was looking for something like this to use in our college’s computer lab (they don’t provide unzipping software in the pcs to prevent us from downloading anything!). this one solved the problem:)

Seems slow but i am trying to uncompress a 24mb rar… Does it work in firefox? Could do with a progress indicator just to let people know whether the file is actually uncompressing or if the browser is just hanging.

Free though and no adds so if it works well for small files then thats still useful and very much appreciated.

this app is awesome. imagine how useful this when you have no winzip installed and you need a quick file zip / unzip.
