The move by ISPs and MDA to ban porn websites is a wise one. True, contenders argue that this won’t stop pornomaniac teens from accessing porn from various outlets or simply bypassing it through a proxy. But the fact that at least some porn websites, and mind you these websites are the top websites in the internet, are banned and there is such an huge uproar online, there is certainly the effect of preventing netizens from accessing porn. The new measure also obscure popular porn websites from the innocent’s view.

Even if this measure is ineffective in preventing porn fans from viewing pornography, which is obvious from my case aforementioned that it is not, it is still symbolic in a sense that it proclaims the government rejection of pornography.

RETARDS! This won’t stop the young people ( ahh the young people). Not long ago when i was in university, the school put up SEVERAL security measures… Within 3 days of each installment, someone would hack in thereby rendering it useless:D. So they gave up. What i’m trying to say is that youths these days are smart. They can AND WILL find another way. I always believe that exposure is not the problem. Its the lack of understanding and self control that SG has failed to promote.

This is a stupid move by MDA.

By blocking access to porn sites, things will not help but get worse.

People will get more desperate for sexual pleasure and without masturbation from porns, they would either get a prostitute from geylang or rape someone else.

This is seriously dumb and immature, people from other countries will be like, ‘LOL, Singapore’s two major internet providers blocked porn sites!’.

This is pure retarded.
