A shocking news to start my day off, Performancing is calling the Perpaypost acquisition deal off. Nick Wilson of Performancing says this in his blog this morning,

After much discussion, we’ve decided that the deal proposed by PayPerPost just isn’t right for us or our community. It’s regrettable that we should part ways as I still feel that Dan and Ted are stand up guys breaking new ground, but in the end, the deal was just not right for them or us.

Metrics will then be given back to the developer community and let it grow from there. Performancing will no longer support this package. Nick suggested its users to try Feedburners Blog Stats as an alternative to the Metrics.

Nick and the Performancing crew will concentrate back on their Partners advertising program. Performancing firefox blog editor (PFF) be will rebranded as ScribeFire.
