Ok, heres some information that will hopefully help you all out.
If you sell online and are expecting a large payment (maybe $1000+) which will look very suspicious indeed, simply ring paypal (or email them) and inform them of this business transaction, tell them: I expect more payments in the future also.
In most cases they will say: This is fine, maybe you would like to upgrade to a business account in the future? Simple. Also keep in mind they are not a bank and their so called “contracts” are not legally binding and they in fact have no right to hold your money. Threatening to take them to the small claims court is a good way of getting your money back swiftly. Give them a 48 hours to unfreeze your account or you’ll carry through with your threats. I’m also a victim of paypal. they block my account for unknown reason and hold more than $4000 funds for 180 days. they ruined my online business. I have them. never use paypal. They can’t protect anything. They can’t protect the seller from chargeback. They can’t not protect the buyer from receiving fake items. It’s the worst company in the world.

Hi, anyone here know where to complain against the paypal if they force to close your account and hold your money for 180 days without any reasonable excuse? I lived in Malaysia and my account is verified. I get the paypal funds through buying from local forumer and they transfer USD to my account after i pay them RM. I had try to negotiate with them through email but all i get is reply like machine from them. Their customer service quality is like Streamyx customer service, if you know what i mean…with monkey/prehistoric human intelligent

It just happen to me after my account get access limited for two weeks without any other party dispute against me before, but only paypal self investigation on me. After i had no heard any update on paypal investigation on me since two weeks time, then i keep email back to them to push on them to resolve my account limitation. BUT what i get is my account force to close down and my money get hold for 180 days…They not even ask me to send any my verification documents to them or ask action from my side…

If you’re suspended,isn’t that equivalent that “you-can-never-open-a-paypal-account ever again”? My ebay account & paypal account was suspended indefinitely for selling branded items. So,this means the end of selling on ebay & the right to use paypal as means of payment method,right? I was also scammed by a seller for selling me a fake LV bag. I thought I did the right thing to trust the seller by returning the bag in as she agreed to refund me when I returned it to her. Alas, the reverse happened to me. I complained to Paypal, and in the end, I was the losing party. I lost my RM1K ++ to that scammer.

aaron! they are doing the same thing to me! They have $2200 of my money. I sold 2 chanel bags through fashionphile and they sent me $ through paypal and now it’s frozen in a limited account. i faxed them documents (invoices and fedex tracking) today through fax numbers i had to find by googling “paypal” and “fax”. i am really nervous im not going to see my money! were you able to resolve this issue??!!

I’ve been scammed by Paypal. Despite paypalsucks and other websites warning people to use Paypal, I took payment for a camcorder that I sold on Ebay and Paypal and am now left with an £800 hole in my pocket and Paypal are £800 richer. When Paypal holds money that it decides is part of a ricky transaction, Paypal get to hold onto your money AND accrus interest from YOUR money. Paypal say they can hold my money for up to 180 days, but possibly longer.

No matter what information I give Paypal, i get the same generic replies back, asking for the information that i have just sent them. Instead of giving the usual advice to other Ebayers, i find myself in the middle of an elaborate scam by Paypal to make as many excuses as possible to get peoples money and hold onto it.

Asking for supplier invoices, I sent an auction reference number from when i purchased the camcorder last year and even the sellers telephone number and email address, still i am getting nowhere, the same replies when i ask why my Paypal account is still on hold.

Legal action will now take place, I urge anyone not to use Paypal, if someone pays you by Paypal I urge you to withdraw the money instantly to your bank account; Although Paypal is regulated by the FSA who I have launched a complaint with and now are in the classification of a bank because they are not registered in the UK any longer.

My advice, dont use Paypal, I will let everyone know what Paypal have done to me. Aaron Sneddon
