Here’s a small little trick in Facebook that allows you to create a grid view or photo collage out of your friends list. This is how I do it:
- Click on Friends tab.
- Proceed to More tab.
- From "Choose an option" dropdown, choose any of the dashes "—"

Usually before a domain meets its expiry date, an email reminder will be automatically generated from the web host to the domain owner. I usually get 3 notices from my web host when domains get near expiry date but I’d always renew as soon as I got the first notice. To understand how bad this will affect Advertlets, I had a chat with Melvin over IM to understand more about this domain expiry matters.
When your domain expires…
Say you’ve forgotten to renew and your domain expired, where does it goes to and what happens next?
An expired domain will undergo the Renewal Hold for 3 months. During these 3 months, the owner can renew the domain directly from its registrar. If the owner fail to renew within these 3 months, the domain will then go into the Redemption Period, it’ll cost the owner an extra fees of RM600 (excluding the renewal fee) to get the domain back.
If the owner did not reclaim the domain after Redemption Period (which last about 1 week to 6 months) , the domain will be publically opened, however getting the domain back isn’t easy. If the domain has a high rank or popular, chances are bots are waiting to purchase them. These bots are scripts that constantly checks for domain that are near expiry, and when the domain is dropped these bots will register it. Bots can be owned by anyone and usually when bots registered a domain, it’ll hold them for 10 years (maximum years a .com can be hold) or sell them away at a luxury price. Sometimes the registrar will take over the these domains themselves, and sell at a higher price.

[Mac only] By default, iTunes doesn’t come with the function to export your songs from playlist or iPod back to your computer. Here’s a situation that always happened on me, friend plug his iPod onto my Mac but I’m unable to retrieve his/her songs unless I depend on 3rd party application to do it. iTunesFS is a project by ZNek that allows you to free your songs from iTunes playlist or any attached iPod. I wouldn’t say iTunesFS is an application because its isn’t something standalone, but better still, it uses FUSE file system that makes all playlist songs listed painlessly fast inside folders in Finder.
iTunesFS requires MacFUSE Core version, so be sure to install that before you install iTunesFS. Ready to free all your songs off your iPod to your Mac?

Sometimes you might notice photos taken (particularly with digital camera) are not as nice as you expect them to be when it’s viewed on your monitor. Here’s a little Photoshop trick I used often to enhance the photo colors, making it livelier overall.
Here’s a sample image taken with digital and camera opened up in Photoshop, you might think the color here is fine but you’ll see a difference when we compare this and the final output later.

Situations like these following leave you no choice but to undergo a mass find and replace to get the problem fixed.
- Weird characters in blog entries after upgrade. After performing a wordpress upgrade, some characters will appear as "â€", "’", "??"
- Rename keyword1 to keyword2. You want to rename keyword1 in your entire database to keyword2, but opening the 100Mb database file with your text editor is not the smartest idea. After all, you’ll need to download a file as big as100Mb down before you can start changing, upload it before you can preview.
- You discovered a typo. You been using this phrase all the while and just realized it was wrongly spelled and want to search and replace all blog contents containing this typo.
- and so on…
Here are few methods I’ve come to know that allows one to mass find and replace in WordPress blog entries. And as always, please do a full database backup to avoid any data lost.

Yesterday I was helping a reader solving his WordPress error, so I thought I might as well write an entry, just in case we all encounter this in the future. If you ever run across this error (or warning) in your WordPress with the message saying:
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at //home/htdocs/wordpress/wp-config.php:1) in /home/htdocs/wordpress/wp-login.php on line 12
or something similar, chances are you have messed up your wp-config.php leaving some unnecessary spaces inside.
