On first impression, Pacmee functions like Twitter to me. It is micro blogging service that keep your friends (followers) updated on your current on-going. It has most basic functions of Twitter, except that you are charged for every messages sent.

Here’s how Pacmee works. To register an account, you will need to be a Maxis (local telco) user; sends a text message to register yourself and you can start using. You are charged RM0.05 for every text message sent and you can send up to 20 shoutouts per month. To follow someone’s shoutout, you will need to text in as well. Read the FAQ for more information on usage and charges.
Verdict
I personally think charging is not a good idea, especially when functions are very similar to Twitter and Twitter supports sending text messages to mobile phones too, free of charge. Maybe comparing too much to Twitter seems a bit no fair for this new service, but by paying for each text messages sent, we’ll expect messages to reach receivers’ end almost at real time.
Will you use this?

too much to pay for one post. if you are using twitter from malaysia, it will only cost 0.20 cents per sms sent (DIGI).

fistball: yea, it is a malaysia based website.
tech: I think that’s fair if twitter charges updates via phone 20 cents as updating via web is primary and they are free.
Diego: thanks for the recomendations.
