I tried this out and it works fine until you try to use transparent PNG hacks in your design. It has something to do with ActiveX support in WINE.

I use and trust Fusion (or Parallel, VitrualBox, etc.) with Multiple IEs installed because its full emulation of a real PC. Just upgrade your RAM so your Mactel doesn't lose performance.

[...] The better alternative to install Internet Explorer on Mac is to use Parallel, VMWare, or any other application that allows you to install Windows on Mac. However if you are not ready to pay just to get IE running on your Mac, try ies4osx. It’s supports running IE5, IE5.5, IE6 on Mac. Read more about ies40sx. [...]

Useful to test web designs with IE on Mac. Otherwise, stick with Safari or Firefox.

Good one. You have a typo in the versions of IE supported list. Should be Internet Explorer 6.0.

That's the problem with IE, because it sooooooooooo suxorz when it comes to Web Standards, even MAC users have to install it to make sure their sites work well on IE. :)
