Some of the solutions worked well. But there are still little issues in safari like the start up time is more, the skin can be improved etc. Overall its a nice browser to have

Nice help provided by Hans Jensen on the bookmarks issue because I was initially quite caught up in the problem!! I need more help on how to use different sizes and types of fonts on safari. A back is also required on the browser. Though personally I feel that safari interface in quite appealing but yet Apple developers need to work more the functional aspects of safari too!!

My personal opinion is that Apple should have had some better testing before such a large scale release of a Windows platform program. I think someone jumped the gun a little early. Read my open letter to Apple.

For non-US users, the bookmarks issue (crash if you touch any of the bookmark functions) seems to be fixed by copying the en.lproj folders in the Safari installation folder and subfolders to xx.lproj, where xx is your localisation code, e.g. da for Danish, pt for Portuguese, etc.

I got Safari showing in Windows Vista the way it should by editing my Fonts.plist file (In Vista: C:Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\Safari\Fonts.plist) and copying the Lucida Grande.ttf & Lucida Grande Bold.ttf from the C:Program Files\Safari\Safari.resources folder to the C:Windows\Fonts folder.

My Windows Vista installation renames the .ttf fonts to Lucida Grande_0.ttf & Lucida Grande Bold_0.ttf so I reference that in the Fonts.plist file:

Lucida Grande Bold
C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\Lucida Grande Bold_0.ttf

I also made sure there were references to the Arial, Tahoma, Verdana, Georgia, Trebuchet fonts in the Fonts.plist file (including bold, italic and bold-italic). Be sure to go into your Windows Fonts folder and check the names of the font files to make sure they match your Fonts.plist file.

For my XP box, I did the same steps but referenced the C:Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari\Fonts.plist location. XP kept the names as they appear in the C:Program Files\Safari\Safari.resources folder. So, I added these lines to my Fonts.plist file:
