Hitachi Introduces 1-Terabyte Hard Drive

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies shake the hard disk industry today by announcing their 1TB capacity hard disk, the Deskstar 7k1000. Hitachi announced this just week before the U.S consumer electronic shows and show make the Deskstar something quite highly anticipated during the show.

According to PC World, this new 1TB Hard disk will cost around USD $399 and will start shipping in the first quarter of 2007, just around the corner where Seagate will launch their 1TB hard disk too!

It is quite a remarkable improvement there for Hitachi. They took 35 years (1991) to reach 1GB, another 14 years later (2005) to reach 500GB and 2 years later (2007) they launched their 1TB hard disk drive.
