Welcome GrabMyAds, the third blogging advertising network has just knocked on the local blogosphere, after their two direct competitors Advertlets and NuffNang. Here’s a quick recap on the launches of these 3 advertising networks.

NuffNang was officially launched in Malaysia on the 27th of February; Advertlets came in slightly later on the 9th of March and now we have GrabMyAds joining in at the 21th of November. 3 blog ad networks for year 2007, how about that!
How GrabMyAds works
GrabMyAds’s model is very much similar to the rest of the two. Sign up, grab the codes, paste it on your blog. If you are chosen by advertisers, ads will start running and you will start earning. Collecting of demographics are required. They also suggest that you put their ads higher, because ad positions directly determines earnings.
Folks at GrabMyAds summarized the entire process into 6 simple steps:
- Advertisers create campaign and upload various of ad type format.
- Blogs which registered with us will list in our system and available for advertisers.
- Advertisers find the perfect blogs, schedule, pay and track results in real time.
- Bloggers get notify by email when advertisers confirm a campaign.
- GrabMyAds sent your cheque to your door steps.
Payments
GrabMyAds pays by cheque, in local currency (Ringgit Malaysia) once you have RM50.00 or more in your account. Requested payments will be process before 7th each month and payment processing will take 30 days.
My Thoughts
It’s kinda unfair to start comparing GrabMyAds with both their competitors as they’ve just started, but when a new ad network is born, it is a human nature to start analysing what they’ve got to offer that others don’t. Will bloggers still have rooms for another ads space for this new ad network? Will advertisers still have budgets? My guess is, yes.
I’m also very interested to see how GrabMyAds will market itself in the future. To stay where they are now, Advertlets and NuffNang has gone through all the sponsoring events, throwing bloggers parties, etc. Will GrabMyads follow their footsteps, or they will have something ground breaking?
What’s your thoughts?

With a new firm injected to the scene, are we thinking the likelihood of extra budget or the same budget. More cakes or each with a smaller cake.
If the smaller cake theory applies, individual earnings will be affected. If that’s the case, then bloggers may have an effect on how many blogging advertising network to choose..
Which would also impact the whole blogger-advertiser network relationship…
Still too early, to see how the new kid can co-exist with the existing ones…

When I met Timothy of Nuffang and asked him about Advertlets, he said, he believed that there are no more room for other advertising network in Malaysia.
Both Nuffnang and Advertlets are already having a hard time due to competition and the slow change of Malaysian advertiser moving to online advertising. Will GradMyAds even survive?
Hong Kiat, lets see whether they have a different game plan……..
For now, I will stick to what I use…;)

Freethinker: Actually I don’t think so much into details. Two’s a company, Three’s a Party :-)
Scamboy: You can never ask a company to comment on its competitor, you’ll never get an honest answer. IMHO, there’s always a room for the second, or third in any business. There is Linux, Apple and Mac in the OS; Nokia, SE, Motorola in the mobile phone; Intel and AMD, etc.
Also I don’t believe in domination of business is because - take a look at Streamyx, they sucks but when they dominates, they don’t even care if quality drops. But now they are slowly feeling the heat from Maxis?

It is a very good news to Malaysia bloggers! We got more choice as i heard a lot of bad news towards Advertlets and NuffNang…. I will look into it and if ok, i will signup! Thanks!

i think it is still very early to ascertain whether it is a good thing or otherwise. when nuffnang first hit the market, it was like dream comes true for many. but look at the ruckus which followed.
i guess only time will tell what lies ahead of all these advertising networks.

Frankly speaking I won’t try now! I don’t believe they can last long. Somehow their office in Alor Setar……

I’d love to see some avg earning vs pageview numbers from anyone who’s tried it….
