Another content has just got dugg and hit Digg.com’s frontpage and obviously my webhost is not really happy with this, especially when it crashes their server with loads up to 200% (as they claimed) and Hongkiat.com is once again forced to undergo a suspension to avoid these massive traffics.
Never mind really, I’m already so used to it. The moment it hits the front page, I’ve done everything I can to ease their loads; that includes Wordpress WP-Cache and redirecting the content to another site but it leads to a suspension. I need a DS. I just hope readers will bear with me. Whenever there is a downtime, I just want you to know I’m actually working behind trying to get thing back up online asap. Drop me an instance message if you wanna know what happened.
Mass traffics like this increases Money Making?
If your server has what it takes, this mass traffic might help a little. It’s good for CPM ads but nothing much to CPC ads. Massive traffics like this, visitors rushed in for particular content and most will leave. Still it feels good to sit back and admire some crazy traffics, well, for a while before it goes down.
Here’s what I’ve managed to captured with Whos.Amung.Us before the suspension.

Hey man,
If your web host can’t handle a digg, CHANGE IT.
Get a host with grid server technology to handle the sudden burst of server load, like mediatemple or misk.

hi, stumbled upon your blog. “Dugg” is the term they use, like “You’ve been Dugg”, past tense. Cool blog you have here, keep it up. You’ve earned another feed subscriber.
