Here’s another Virtual Desktop, the G.ho.st Virtual Computer (VC). G.ho.st stands for Global Hosted operating System and it works similarly like DesktopTwo. G.ho.st allows you to create your own virtual desktop and you have 3GB of space to store your information on your virtual desktop and access them anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. Ghost fully runs on Flash, so if you are on a slow machine or slow internet connection that’s really going to affect the performance.

Ghost requires Javascripts, cookies and popup to be enabled, provided that you have the latest flash player. Get your free G.ho.st virtual desktop now.

Thank you for reviewing G.ho.st. Our alpha is live at http://G.ho.st including 3GB of free storage from G.ho.st and more from partner applications. Our beta is due this summer packed full with free applications – at that point G.ho.st will provide a real Virtual Computer for anyone who wants their computing environment to be mobile and accessible from your office, school or Internet Cafe.

Ghost looks nice but I wouldn’t compare it to Desktoptwo just yet. In particular, Ghost will rely on 3rd party applications where as Sapotek, the maker of Desktoptwo, has created its own. I guess it’s just another approach but, as of now, I like Desktoptwo the best. Still, all of these companies are moving in the right direction.

G.ho.st is surely a great concept. I don’t know much about the technical aspect of G.ho.st but its functionality excites me.. I saw an interview of its creator, Zvi Schreiber. You can read about the man himself and his aims to ultimately move the whole computer onto the web at Los Creador – http://www.loscreador.com/2007/05/29/interview-with-the-ghost-zvi-schreiber
