i bought my i phone in saudi and i was told that i can unlocked my phone after the warranty period.can i unlocked it in msia and will there be any problem..????anyone plz help me out on this,thanks.

i have the latest iphone with firmware 2.2.1 and baseband 2.30.03. I used the rebel simcard which can unlock my iphone but have to disable the 3G, then only i can get incoming calls but it is rather inconvenient. Can you recommend any solution to rectify this problem. Thanks.

hey guys, i accidentally allowed itunes to upgrade my ihone, now it has been upgraded to 2.1 version, wiping away all my recoreds etc..now i am stuck cos i cannot unlock my phone using the current hacking system..HELP

Oo..Hans u also faced the same problem. My friend is going to change the sim card as well..hope it can work later..but seems like it doesnt work for u too..so do u have any idea how to get it fix?

My iphone was unlocked about a month ago. It worked fine for the 1st 2 weeks, afterwhich, the Iphone is also experiencing the same issues with “no service” from time to time. Totally unable to make calls when I’m driving. Went to Maxis, changed the sim card and still not working.

My friend facing problem with his i-phone after unlock it few days ago. Oftenly the line will show “no services” while he is driving around and he is unable to send SMS. He is using Digi 016. I was told that Digi has no 3G services. Will this be the reason that the Digi is not suitable for i-phone? or anything goes wrong with the unlock step or phone setting? Hope any experts can help me on this. Thanks

i was given an iphone from UK by a friend, having used Maxis line for my normal phone call and thinking that while i am using free Wi-Fi to search the internet or downloading info, there shouldn’t be any charges from the phone line service provider…
Guess what..I was charged with maximum fee RM250 for what data or gprs claimed by Maxis..

Do my best knowledge..a phone need to be set up before using the local service provider before you are enable to serve the internet..? Which i did not do that..i am aware that using the Maxis service to search the net will cost a bomb..

I learned my lesson…cancel what ever gprs or 3G services that you have before you use your i phone to do anything…

Any want can tell me do i need to do any setting in my iphone before using the local service provider to serve the net?

Listen up people , Lets be realistic , PHones that are unlocked are bound to crash sooner or later , THe screen will lock up now and then applications will not function , Think about it you will shell out RM 3k and get absolutely no warranty or nothing on it , Then if you want to fix it , where will you go ? Drop your phone a few times and the touch screen stops working, your finished…. DId anyone actually stop and think about this… ? I mean RM 3k is a lot of dough even if you are filthy rich , How would you like it when you buy the unlocked one and then suffer several intermittent problems , You will be really heartbroken… I am going to wait till the next years launch and buy it 2 years from now , when everyone has it and we know what are the problems with having it , Anyone with me on this one ?

unlocking the iphone is alot easier now (read http://www.engadget.com/2007/09/15/anysim-is-here-open-source-gui-iphone-unlock-app/)

then again, it would be wiser to wait for the next generation of iphones, and the ones that will hit asia/malaysia will most likely have 3G in them, mms and better functionality.
