My colleague cum good friend Daniel’s blog PR has went from PR3 to PR4. Congratulations! However hongkiat.com went from PR3 straight down to 0. That’s right, ZERO. I sure hope this is some hiccup or I’m still in the middle of the PR Update. However some told me its ok, PR is not everything. Life goes on, more blog posting continues :)
Did you notice any change in your PR recently?

Let’s see whether there are any benefits…*skeptical*

Hong Kiat, I just checked yours and it still remained 0. Must have been some error I suppose.
Cely, I kepoh go checked yours and since I read from forums saying that PR can be different even if it’s for the same blog, your PR for http://www.chingling.net is PR3 but for http://www.chingling.net/blog is PR4!
Why is that so?
ReplyLiewCF March 27th, 2007
don’t worry, hongkiat. I got PR0 before and got PR back later. Don’t be fool by Google. ;)
Replycely March 27th, 2007
christine, i m not too sure why is that.. but some ppl link me to chingling.net and some link to chingling.net/blog
i got different backlinks from both

None detected on my dozen of domains yet. But I would love a PR6/10. I am stucked at PR5/10 for years already.
ReplyThilak March 28th, 2007
Well, that’s weird. Google usually updates toolbar pagerank once in 3 months. Last time, PR was updated somewhere around Jan 18th.
ReplyAdes March 28th, 2007
Hong Kiat do you use google analytics? I am sure you will get back a higher PR than PR3 after few months…
Replyhongkiat March 28th, 2007
Ades: I was shocked at first, but now I’m kinda ok already :) How Google calculate PR is seriously a mystery for me. And yes, I’m using Google Analytics, what’s up.
ReplyAdes March 29th, 2007
It’s my personal opinion that Google uses GA for it’s PR calculation as well, besides providing free stats service to people. When you do not use GA they calculate the PR of your site based on traffic and number of links pointing to your site (and many other complex unknown variables), but when you use GA they do not have to rely on those things much because you are giving them access to your traffic logs. And from these logs they can determine exactly how much of PR your site really should get.
I had the same experience, after putting GA in one of my sites, the PR of my site decreased by 1 (strange)…
Again, it’s my opinion only, there is no hard facts on this…

I’ve got the PR 0 blues too…I tried a few of the future PR checker sites and am showing between a 3 and 4 future PR. Yay!
It does make you wonder with all the great traffic this site gets why it isn’t getting some PR love?
Replydrmike April 10th, 2007
Mine are still at zero but they’re all new domains. Google is showing inbound links though. That only occurs during an update.
ReplyDaniel Vukadinovic July 8th, 2007
So what’s up with the Google PR? Have they update it already?
ReplyChris Merriman July 15th, 2007
>>Daniel, no most people still think it will occur 22-28th (approx) July.
>> Ades - I have never come across anyone suggesting that traffic was in any way related to Google Page Rank calculations before. Are you sure that is what occurs? Not trying to put you down, just genuinely interested…

I just started a few new sites? The most important one im curious about is http://free-loops.com its about 2 months old. I’ve been checking on that Iweb Future Page rank… and it was supposed to be a 4 or 5 but now it won’t even show up. Anyone have a clue? Google PR update is coming soon?
ReplyDLL Files Head August 6th, 2007
Anyone know?
ReplyChris Merriman September 13th, 2007
Latest rumours mentioned either a radical overhaul of the whole PR stats system, or simply dropping it.
ReplyThats fine, could I just get a PR of 6 first though ;)
