URL shortening services are really nothing new these days, but because they are really doing a good job turning lengthy URL short, services like these are growing each day. Is.gd (is good?) is yet another URL shortening service. I’m not sure if it’s really good, but the new url turns out to be really short.
Before:

After:
http://is.gd/3ux
It shrink the original URL by 80%. I think what is.gd currently lack of, is a Firefox bookmarklet to help create short URL on the fly.

Great information. But I don’t get why I should shorten my URL.

@sikantis Taking Twitter for instance, it only allows 140 characters to be sent each time. If you have a URL to share, that would probably take out 30% if is long.

I used this URL shortening in most of the time than say, Tinyurl in blogs, twitter, IM and emails. Works flawlessly, domain name is also shorter than most URL shortening services out there. Grab the javascript, put in in ya web browser toolbar for greater convenience. :)
It’s really cool and handy that twhirl, a twitter app built from Adobe Flex incorporates Is.gd into it.
