Buy your way up Digg.com?

“I Bought Votes on Digg“. This is the title I saw in one wired.com new post. A confession of how one actually buys his way up to reach Digg.com’s main page. According to the author, he bribes (I guess we can say that) honest diggers; paying 1 dollar per digg votes to get content up main page. Are these for real? If it is, it’s definitely something not proud. Why bother confessing? Author even reveals the Digg-gaming agent he used â€“ User/Submitter. This site pays you to vote for publishers and charge publishers $20 access fees and $1 for each vote. How dirty can this be?

I think you’ve missed the whole reason as to why he did this…

He has proved utterly that Digg can be abused, to make it just another marketing tool. Digg will have no choice but to listen, and try to sort that. Therefore, he has improved Digg.

It looks to be pretty rife. User/Submitter has been around for months, and looks to be buying votes for around one story an hour.
