Alexa Redirect Broken?

How to boost your Alexa ranking was one of the hottest topic discussed in the blogosphere last year. We bloggers tried many ways to increase the ranks, some even come out with entries like "N way to increase Alexa rankings" or start forming groups to help each other. One of the ways to increase was to use the Alexa redirects. Here’s how a Alexa redirect looks like:

http://redirect.Alexa.com/redirect?myblog.com

A lot of us believed that it will work (which it actually don’t). Some start changing their blog URL to include the Alexa redirects, some even encourage people who linked to their site to add this URL included. There’s also wordpress plugin created to include this redirection script in all your blog’s internal links within few clicks.

It is actually a confirm fact that the Alexa redirect will not help in rankings, and if you are still using the redirect script, you’ll probably noticed that it’s now a broken link. I wonder if Alexa will solve this, what’s the point of this redirect script anyway.

thanks James

I didn’t believe it back when everyone else was talking about it, funny to see now that alexa made all those links break, looks like the only one that got anything out of it was alexa.com
